I guess it depends on your definition of "changed their lives for the better".;)
Most of my drug-using friends are old burned-out hippies who just want to get through the day so they can get high. Not that there's anything wrong with that- it just hasn't improved their lives that I see or hear evidence of.

Then I would wager that they merely had a sensory experience, rather than one on the symbolic, integral, or recollective-analytical levels.

it's a bad idea, people go to a hotel to get their fix, they go home, they want to go again but they dont have the money, so they find a dealer on the street.
any form of legitemised drug use is a bad idea, drugs lead to messed up lives and mental illness, i know people who suffer schizophrenia and bi polar due to drug use.
there are no positives, sure, you get high for a while, but then you come down and you want more and more and you end up looking like mick jagger.

I love the idea and would wanna work there as a clerk or something. Only down side to it would be that your trip may be supressed by being holed up in a Hotel because what you are talking about is a controlled setting and that may inhibit one from fully enjoying the ride if ya know what I mean.

Why don't you try using supported and cited facts in your argument next time?

They wouldn't ask the taxpayer to support them for the rest of their lives. They'd sue the hotel, saying it was responsible for them frying their brains. And the jury would probably award multimillion dollar damages because they're all stupid, worthless sheep who want to make sure that when they make their own failed bid to win the Darwin Award that other stupid, worthless sheep will be there to support them with someone else's money.

God, at least the taxes are honest and spread out across the entire country. We can almost afford supporting useless people that way.

That is what release forms are all about. You would have to sign a bunch of paperwork. Kinda like what you have to do if you wanna go skydiving or some such thing.

What do you think of Rastas? What do you think of Bob Marley? He was far from crazy and looks nothing like Mick Jagger.:(

I think people should be able to do as they want, and if you wanted such an establishment I don't have a problem with it. Ecstasy is horrible for people though, and other psychedelic drugs have very negative long term effects. But if people want to flip the middle finger to nature, let them.

Alcohol and Cigarettes are more damaging than Ecstasy. Not that I ever tried ecstasy.

No, drugs are bad.

Last time I'll ever respond to a job ad looking for somebody to clean up the windowpane.

That's arguable. Prolonged MDMA usage causes serotonin receptors to cease functioning. That means you can never be happy again. :tocktock2

I'm down for the Psychedelic Hotel. There's no reasons against it that would trump the reasons for it. :D

That's my sentiment, though it may be an unpopular one.

Tons of things, good and bad, have been unpopular; the only way it goes from unpopular to fail or win is when we ****ing get off our asses and try it.

There's nothing to lose except all the expenses of a War on Drugs and drug related violence because we can't monitor all the illegal ****. :D

I never researched it. Ive just heard the statement many times that alcohol and cigarettes belong to hard drugs(category heroin and cocaine) if judged properly, while ecstasy belong to medium drugs.

People over-use alcohol to feel "happy", which means over time the same effect you describe is true for alcohol.

I quit smoking cigarettes for many reasons, 1 of them is that cigarette smoking is depressive.

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

Horrible Idea...

Why?

Because I said so..

That is all.

Only if you wish to spread disinformation. Alcohol is damaging in large amounts, it has beneficial effects in low amounts. Cigarettes are rather bad as well, but do not cause permanent brain "damage" (for lack of a better word) for limited uses. Ecstasy does, it eats holes in the brain. Saying otherwise is dangerous, stupid, and misleading.

Most substances, taken in the 'right' quantities, or one or twice, have just as much adverse effects as the others. It's when these substances are abused that we run into problems. Anything in excess is bad. :D

Not prolonged, immediate. Studies show that that effect occurs with very limited use, the effects on chemical receptors in the brain is profound. Ecstasy is bad, that's all there is to it. Doing it is stupid, that's all there is to it. I understand people wanting to do drugs and such, and I'll let people make their own mistakes. But people should talk honestly about the drug use. If you look up the studies, you'll find that there is good indication that effects of ecstasy can manifest themselves after the first use.

Yup. I'm not going to run people's lives. But there are serious side effects of hardcore drugs. People want to make alcohol and tobacco out to be some of the most hardcore **** you can do. And they have bad effects, there's no doubt about that. But compared to some other things, they're kittens. People talk about "expanding their minds" or whatever hippie BS through drug use. You expand your mind by thinking, by arguing, by researching, by learning. Not by killing off portions of your brain, essentially spitting in the face of evolution. Now some of the more natural hallucinogens don't do the sort of damage that manufactured ones do. But still, you have to be careful less you're really going for the brain damage. Which in that case, just huff some glue or paint and be done with it.

People seem to forget that the MA in MDMA stands for methamphetamine. The drug has legitimate therapeutic uses, but it is a terrible thing to do for recreational purposes.

This is awesomely awesome recreational therapy!

I don't care. As long the business operates in accordance with local regulations it makes no difference to me what drugs people use or where they use them.

I've done E a couple of times. I'm sure the effects on my brain were not positive, but the mental and physical pleasure I felt was intense. Really intense.

You only live once...
