I would still really appreciate a link to the actual quote from Obama. A google search is turning up nothing, and your link is just to a message board where some one said he said it. Without the quote and the context, it is impossible to judge.

However, China will not pose a threat to the world if it really becomes the next superpower.
This can be seen in the site where the starting post tell us, where many Chinese are discussing about the world issues, including China-Singapore relations.
Do you think it is possible for China to be the next superpower?
IMO, they are now, at least in the realm of material goods for us. But this does not seem to help the "man on the street", the average Chinaman.
And I have never been over there and know little of them. They are decent, honorable men, from what little I do know..We must study them, we do have a lot to learn, and they can help us, and us - them...Its the way humans should be..
This "superpower" business is just childish..

Until China's human rights issues are corrected they are not qualified to be a co-governor of anything.

    China's involvement is offensive.

China supports the murderers in Iran; this is unacceptable. China cannot be allowed any consideration here. PERIOD.

For your info China is the biggest financier of US debts. Japan is the 2nd biggest financier. Obama bent 90% to Japanese emperor but Obama forgot to kiss the feet of the chinese president.

That is irrelevant. We're talking about their qualifications to be a co-leader. Not their finances.

    Thanks for your comment.
As I know, lots of Chinese are decent and friendly, but there also are some Chinese who like money only.
I don't think China is powerful enough to co-govern the world with the United States now!

I guess that may be the time of Genghis Khan. He was a ruthless leader who later conquered China.
Although I don't know of the name the provinces of very early China. The first emperor of that time was into domination by force for unification. The concept or idea of cooperation hardly entered his mind.

The whole idea is nuts, why do you even entertain this ****?
