Do you see any similarity with the US now(and past) to NAZI Germany?

Did the US adapt the methods, foreign policy and state power of NAZI Germany.

Happy to hear your opinion on this Bodi. I am unbeliabably sad to see what is going on in the US. :(

The corruption in the USA is about money, so for that reason alone the comparison isn't valid. Is there corruption? Yes. That is human nature though... it is inevitable. Greedy people seek power. Power in the modern world is closely associated with politics. How is that ever going to change? With people using their power of vote, that is the only way to truly keep government in check, and most people are ignorant and apathetic. This is true of every nation. This will never change.

I'm always amazed when I hear comparisons between Republicans and Nazis. Anyone that thinks that the fundamentals of the Nazi Party and the Republican party are at all the same, are simply ignorant of both.

Republicans believe in a less powerful central government as opposed to Nazis who believed in an ALL powerful central government. Among other differences, this one should show the ridiculousness of the analogy.

You don't know that history of Maximus Zeebra. He has been on a 4 year quest to bash America. It is his M.O.

Does the OP think Democrats are also part of this "Nazi-like" country or just Republicans?

From what I can remember, it is the USA as a whole. Democrats and Republicans. I don't think that he thinks that it is a conspiracy, just that the apathetic voter base of the American citizen is being taken advantage of. Taht the government is slowly turning us into a scary Orwellian nightmare, or something.

''Many in Germany compare the U.S. to what they went through up until Hitler's regime.''

I think these types of people spend too much time inventing information. Unfortunately, fairly healthy democracies dont seem to silence those, who insist in making a farce out of all political discussion. Making far fetched comparisons, and dumping them on others is just wasting everybodies time.

And, I doubt there is anyone alive in Germany who actually experienced pre Nazi Germany first hand. How old would such a person need to be? As well as that, I live in Germany, and have not even once heard anybody here comparing the US of today with pre Nazi Germany.

Anyone who compares Obama or Bush or "what's happening in the US" to Nazi Germany, defiles the memory of the people who died under that regime... Those who do: Go learn your ****ing history!

If the question is, are the Dems and Reps Nazi like?
No they aren't.

Do they share similar traits of a fascist regime?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Depends on the issue.

I like art... Hitler liked art... does that make me a Nazi Harry ?

I'm worried it might...

Why is this thread still here?

I am talking about the US, especially since year 2000. I am talking about the methods of the Republican party.
I am talking about things like justifications for going to war,

No unlike Germany we were actually attacked and Iraq unlike Poland was not an innocent country.

the distortion and propaganda surrounding it. I am talking about the police state,

Not even close. Liberty in this country today is greater than it ever has been. Liberty in this country has only continued to increase since its founding.

and increased right of the government.

The government has far less authority than it has had at previous times in this Nations History; such as, the civil war, WW1, and WW2.

I am talking about propaganda and brainwashing in general,

Not even close unless you want to compare the Press Secretary to Goebbles.

I am talking about the agenda of the political class, I am talking about foreign policy.

Call me when the U.S. A) actually conquerors land, B) Sets up its own fiefdoms directly governed by representatives from D.C., or C) turns the civilians within land it occupies militarily into slave labour.

Anyone who compares the USA to NAZI Germany is misinformed.

-Some say America is leaning towards socialism, who cares Britain and France lean towards socialism. Does that make them NAZIs too? No, because economics and aggressive expansion/genocide are not commonly related.
-Some also say America has an aggressive foriegn policy similar to that of NAZI Germany, this is not true, America is not intent on aggressive expansion.
-Another thing that has been said is that the American government spreads propaganda, this is also false, the media is privately run.
-Last and most important, America has and never will commit genocide against Jews.

''Some say America is leaning towards socialism, who cares Britain and France lean towards socialism. Does that make them NAZIs too? ''
The Nazis called themselves socialists, but they werent socialists. A real socialist does not kill people.

There's nothing in the tenants of socialism which subscribe to the non-aggression principle, in fact the central tenant of socialism is violation of the the right of self ownership through theft of property.
