Was it disgraceful when Reagan bowed to Queen Elizabeth?

lol. Still trying to get me to play your silly little game eh?

Prove my posted story wrong. See, I can play too.

And I'm failing because I won't play your game of "evidence" that ends with you demanding evidence from God? But you are rational? Huh.

Stop pretending you're not a hack. Btw, I notice you refuse to address how Bush HW bowed to at the time the Japanese PM. Oh wait. You're going to demand evidence from God on that one.

Grow up.

so obvious child punches puppies. prove that he doesnt....

if bush hw did it. he was an embarrassing fool.... you fail to prove it though so its irrellevant.

your thread is epic fail....

Not at all. It provides a great list of who is a giant partisan hack by showing who of the bashers refused to vote.

And even worse, HW bowed to Hirohito.

Presidential Bows, Revisited - The Caucus Blog - NYTimes.com

There's no point to address your "claims" for proof because you will always raise the bar on what you will accept. Therefore it is futile (and stupid) to enter into such an engagement with you. Where rational people read the story and move on, you keep demanding ever increasingly levels of evidence while providing absolutely nothing but personal insults. You frankly know you can find enough to convince you in private, but in public you demand supernatural levels of evidence.

Therefore, I will not play your game.

But thanks for showing you are a hypocrite. What is epic fail is your attempt to appear as rational and not extremely partisan.

I do find it amusing how you called me a hack when I treat both of them the same.

Watch: Your posts are epic fail because you have utterly failed to refute my story.

Bush I was a moron.

Still waiting for proof reagan bowed to elizibeth.

Illet this post stand as to who is the hack, hack :2wave:

No POTUS should ever bow down to anyone else. Period. The only bowing that I would consider ok is a head bow. Anything else is disrespectful to our country.

How is our country disrespected?

i think that the US needs to loosen it's sphincter. who gives a **** when a president follows a custom of another country to show respect to their leader.

wow talk about tight asses.

Because, nobody respects a nation who's executive bows to anyone. In other new's newly citizenized Japanese American immigrants have all killed themselves for dishonoring themselves:shock:

:sarcasm off

Why isn't this thread dead yet?

If its not bad enough we have idiots looking at every little picture of Obama and finding something to criticize him over we have idiots who jump through hoops of research and wasting time to try to point out someone else as a hypocrite.

EVERYONE is a hypocrite.

There, the point has been proven.

/thread.

IF this thread is so pointless then why post on it? Do you think somehow calling it pointless and pretending(I say pretending to not care because if you didn't care then you would not even bother wasting time posting on this thread at all) to not care is going to make people stop posting in it?

Apparently neither you nor Rev have heard of Google:

AFP: ‘Outrage’ in Washington over Obama’s Japan bow | Raw Story

Apparently the democrats went ape**** over his bowing too.

Still, not surprised that Rev choose to ignore the actual issue here.

I've been googling the issue for 3 days now, and have not found evidence that Reagan bowed to the queen. Sorry, but the Raw Story is no evidence. If Reagan had bowed to Queen Elizabeth, there is no doubt photographic evidence, and after Obama's two controversial bows over the past few months, any photos of Reagan bowing would have been pulled out of the archives and posted all over the internet.

Regardless, I did respond to your question in my previous post, with what my personal reaction would be if the story were true, but the evidence remains to be seen.

As a side note, he was reportedly given honorary kighthood by the queen, and would have had to kneel for the ceremony, but that would not have been connected with his status as POTUS.

How would not posting in this thread help it get flushed?

You're not making any sense

Endless tangents will either send the thread into a flame fest, resulting in a flush, or make people loose interest in it.

Americans give a ****, is who.

This nation was formed and deliberately fashioned to elmiinate the unearned honors awarded to heriditary power....and the Emperor of Japan is no one but the son of the weak man who couldn't stop his nation from attacking the United States. He didn't earn his position, he's the product of a happy little squirt in the night.

Reagan's honory knighthood was bestowed after he left office, in 1989, and as a private citizen he can bow and kneel to anyone he wants.

oh damn, is this what OC was on about?

How dishonest of him.

Had reagan doen this in office, I'd be all over him.....

as a private citizen, its fine.

If obama left office and wanted to prostrate himself before mao, I'd care not.

I don't know. No one's provided any evidence of Reagan bowing before the Queen of England as president that I've seen.

And, no, Eisenhower should NEVER have bowed to that jackass deGaulle, he should have unzipped his pants and said to deGaulle "you owe us, time to pay this installment."

I cant dfind it either, but you must consider the source. OC tends to not be honest some of the time.

 then beat him with it.

Blah Blah Blah, Who gives a ****...

I'd say no sitting President should bow to another head of state. Except possibly to some Asian heads of state where a bow could be substituted for a hand shake. The general point being the President is equal to any other head of state and should not show any sign of being inferior.

That said, this such a minor point, its not worth even a fraction of the attention its been given. For conservatives, if this is the most pressing issue you can find to criticize Obama on, get ready for his re-election in 2012. There are far more important things we should be discussing.

Or we can continue to have people research cultures and their customs instead of trying to create a universal manners booklet.....
