I'd say yes, just as MSNBC has a liberal bias. All the media outlets are corrupt and push propaganda for either side. There are too many news shows that are opinionated instead of simply telling us what the issue is and what the opposing views are, leaving their own opinions out of it.

Is FOX news a right wing organization? Obviously. Is FOX news part of the republican party? Well, no. It would be an exaggeration to say it is a "propaganda beacon for the republicans".

I'd probably agree with this. But doesn't it seem that big name Republicans flock to FOX just as Democrats flock to CNN or MSNBC?

No, Fox news is a company trying to make as much money as possible, and they've decided that reporting a conservative-friendly partisan view of things is the best way to go about that.

No, they're right of the "mainstream media", is all. I'm not even sure if they're "right of center", since the Fox news programs aren't especially biased.

However, unlike NBC, they don't put bombs in gas tanks to show how dangerous certain cars and trucks can be. Unlike See BS, they don't deliberately promote forged papers in an effort to influence elections, or announce that the polls in Floriduh are closed and then wrongly announce that - while the Floriduh polls are still open, that the results from Floriduh conclusively show for Gore (who lost that state).

No, they just cover news on their news programs, but they still have left wingers like Geraldo and O'Reilly, so no one can honestly claim Fox has a right wing bias.

So you advocate a Government Department of the News to monitor the news organizations and decide whether they are allowed to call themself a news organazation?

Wouldn't it be more efficient to just have the government own all news organizations so the good citizens of thje USA could be assured they were only receiving the true facts?

.

LOL......So you want the government to legally control all the propaganda?

CNN isn't that left-leaning. If I had to pick, CNN would be my pick for the most fair and balanced. People who only watch Fox will sometimes spout that "all the other networks are liberal/socialist/state-run etc" but they don't know what they're talking about.

Sorry, but Clinton News Network, Ted Socialist Turner's creation, isn't "fair and balanced".

Is FOX News a propaganda beacon for the Republican Party to influence the masses?

Fox is an organization who has found what the target audience is, quite successfully. Due to the prime time opinion shows they broadcast, they have developed a largely conservative base of viewers. They do have a few left-leaning participants on some of their programs, but Fox realizes where the money is, and they are providing their customers with programming that their customers want. If CNN and MSNBC were doing the same thing, their ratings wouldn't be so low. In the world of show biz and television broadcasting, ratings are the name of the game. It wouldn't do Fox any good to be a "propaganda arm". Their viewers watch because they like what they see. They already know what they believe.

Yes, Fox News has propaganda and it's for the GOP. It's not like it's the only one though. Other channels are propaganda networks for the DNC. We don't have an entirely free press.

Corporate News would be an easy way to sneak in a political platform for a political party.

It would only make sense.....If I was a political giant I would figure a way to campaign 24/7 year round in the guise of a News channel....just say'n

Obama beat you to it....

This poll is meaningless. Everyone already knows that fox broadcasts unfiltered Republican talking points. Anyone with a modicum of honesty will vote "yes," and the apologists will (justifiably) think that this is just another attack on Fox, and they'll vote "no" in retaliation.

I refuse to accept the possibility that there are actually people stupid enough to buy what Fox is selling without realizing what it is. That's as absurd as eating at McDonald's every day and never having been told it's unhealthy.

Ever check out the liberal media?..... they share talking points word for word, all at the same time. Wonder how they do that?

If you think CNN is a socialist media network then you're just wrong period.

:funny

Everyone knows CNN= Communist News Network.

No, that would be you. You are the one that said:

After reaching what point of bias should they NOT be allowed to call themselves NEWS?

Who do you think would decide who could call themself a news org if not the government?

The NO's should have to explain their answer. Why not? How in the name of Zeus' butthole can you say Fox does NOT engage in right wing propaganda??

And saying MSNBC does it for the other side is not a valid answer.

Maybe you could start a poll to convince the mods to ban anyone that doesn't explain every vote they make in a poll.

The same reason you libs can claim that CBS,NBC,ABC,CNN, BBC or any other liberal network does not engage in liberal propaganda.

Okay I'll give you Olbermann what about Scarborough is he a left winger on MSNBC too?

If FOX was Republican propaganda, their 2008 election coverage would have been much more slanted towards McCain than it actually was:

FOX also has the most bipartisan viewership of all the news networks:

Is the question whether FOX is being used by the GOP for propoganda, or is it is FOX inadvertently spreading propoganda for the GOP?

The first question, no.

The second question, yes.

Because I understand the definitions of “propaganda” and “beacon”, and I’ve been here for 4 years now, I’ve seen partisan hacks play this game before.

Propaganda - information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.
Beacon - a person, act, or thing that warns or guides; a person or thing that illuminates or inspires

Are you so caught up in rooting for your team that you're unwilling to admit that Fox News spreads info intended to help the Republicans? Or that they try to warn people about the Democrats and hope to pique people to certain courses of action? (*cough* tea-baggers *cough*)

Just because you have been here four years does not mean you did not just try to stereotype and label millions of people with the by now oh so cliched "tea baggers" appellation. Aside from that obviously common and shallow wellspring, how does Fox News, which reports the same info as the other cable news networks, try to spread news that helps the republicans? Do you like so many interwebezrs think conservative=republican and liberal=democrats? If so, 'splains a great deal about your befuddlement, minus the cannabis.

I believe that Fox News is a conservative media outlet. And they are the only one. I do not believe that Fox is a propaganda beacon for the republican party. CNN is left leaning and MSNBC is out right liberal. All of the network news chanels are left of center.

Since most of the media in the US including the majority of news papers are left of center, why shouldn't Fox be right of center? Its only fair.

According to pew poll, Fox's viewers are 11% liberal, and CNN's are 41% conservative. Makes one think....
