I started out much more liberal when I first came to this board several years back. In time, my views have become hard right on some issues and moderately liberal on the others.

Good Stich/Bad Stich ;)

Riiiight. Your willingness to engage in personal attacks tells everything that we need to know about how "reasonable" you are.
How old are you anyway?

Like I said, I only attack retards. Like yourself. Or people that are like you on the conservative side.

Re: Other

Social democracy isn't "moderate"? News to me.

It's all relative; Social democracy as you define it is not relatively moderate, considering that you consider Bernie Sanders, who is seen as something of an extremist, the only legitimate Social democrat in national American politics.

But even that is certainly very moderate compared to both your original and current views.

Again...are you old enough to be on this forum. Your behavior suggests otherwise.

LOL....I think the last time I resorted to calling someone a "retard" I was 9 years old.

Do your parents know you are using their computer?

Ran across an article that reminded me of this thread. This guy went liberal to conservative then back again. Full bore, most of the time, it sounds like :2razz:

Republican Party - Salon.com

You want my frickin life story while I'm at it?

Yes, and your credit card number.... with pin if it's not too much trouble.

I guess I’d have to call myself a rational anarchist… I really don’t like to have any laws that cramp my style, but realize that most people can’t live like that…. So I just obey the rules I see as fair, and go around those I see as not in my best interest. (no government would be the best government)

Anyone hear ever done a political 180?

When I was a child I was a Democrat, then shortly after adulthood I became a Republican and remained so for a long time. Now I am somewhere in the middle.

Both parties make huge mistakes in terms of interests of the American citizens.

I was a democrat when I was a kid and did not know any better. I became Republican after many years of education. I became a conservative after all the above and many years of travel on several continents and extended stays in Europe and Asia.

Now I distrust both major parties and believe they are both owned by the bankers.

To come to this point is necessary to ignore all they say and observe only what those in power do.

Words are their weapons and they are cheap. They are publicly delivered daily.
In contrast...They like to hide their actions or throw distractions so it is necessary to stay focused and objectively observe to find out what really is going on.

Currently the American people are being done a disservice on several governmental levels.

This is exactly right......I just didn't want to come out and say it because most Americans can't comprehend the big picture.

Most Americans focus on their own little bubble with petty immediate problems and do not realize the pattern of slow and steady changes that are heading for a clear and distinct goal.

The American government is sold out.

What is a "Minarchist"?

Probably just another lable.... and I hate lables. (when they apply to me)

Minimal amount of government, but the government still exists.

bwahahahaha

I'm a libertarianish, live-and-let-live kind of conservative who is concerned with balancing the budget, but I'm still no fun at parties :(

How will they learn if you're not brave enough to come out and say it? Get your message out there! You can be the Patriot who starts the ****storm that puts America back on track.

Mark Twain said:
In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.

Mentality of the average person instantly places a shield of denial when confronted with compelling information that goes against the very root of their beliefs.

Denial is real mental defense and very common.

Denial is a defense mechanism in the brain that keeps a shield of protection from having to deal with issues that may be extremely hard to comprehend.

Many great people that have advanced society have gone through great ridicule by the average masses that could not comprehend the implications of their research.

Perhaps I will get more into this later...

My bad,I'm so use to using sarcasm in daily life I sometimes forget that it can be misinterpreted in text.

No problem. Emoticons can help get the point across when text can't. :)

I was raised in a hardcore Democrat family....everyone always voted Democrat no matter who was on the ticket.I was always told that Republicans were rich and only cared about the rich.

I bought into this mentality until I enlisted in the Army....Just about everyone in the Army is a Conservative (or so it seems).Seeing that most of these guys were not rich and got along pretty damn good with minorites really changed my perspective.Plus it did'nt hurt that Army values/ethics reflect Conservative thinking.

You work hard and do a good job...You get promoted no matter your skin color, gender or personel wealth.

This seems like mostly correlation. Do you have a more causative argument; e.g., why are people in the army who are not rich 'conservative'? I am not so sure that army values and ethics are necessarily 'conservative'. How do you mean? The vast majority of ideologies agree with the last sentence quoted.

On certain issues I have. I used to be strongly pro life and opposed to the legalization of marijuana. However, I've since changed these views after becoming more aware of both sides of the argument. Many of political beliefs were that of my parents and I never really questioned them at that time.
