    I'm not sure....but I wouldn't necessarily doubt it.
People have liberals views for as many reasons as people have conservative views.
Not every conservative is a rich corporate CEO.

In the Army, I was a Liberal in a conservative world. At my Quaker liberal arts college I was a conservative in a liberal world. Now I see the folly of both extreme positions, where Democrats are socially liberal and economically liberal, while Republicans are socially conservative and economically moderate. I am socially liberal and economically conservative. Go Whigs!

I actually have a lot of respect for people who are socially liberal/moderate and economically conservative.
The Republican party (In Goldwater's days) shared a very similar philosophy.
They would be considered "liberals" by todays conservatives.

There probably are....I think most people however understand that political views cross as socio-economics classes.

Personally, I've never understood why people who are struggling in this country would support Republican candidates. To me, its like gays or minorities supporting the GOP.
The GOP platform is certainly not supportive of these groups and yet some in each support the GOP. I imagine its because they find something in the platform that is so important to them that they overlook much of the other platform stands.

Such a refreshing change of DD pace, I guess it would be too much to hope this could continue. As versus the usual DD approach, which ain't swaying anyone to your POV. Just sayin.

That's where we differ. Personally, I never would and I would do everything to encourage people close to me not to. However, I would assume that my belief is appropriate for them. It is their choice. Not mine.

How long have you been around?

    I've said this for ages.

As hardcore leftist as I am, I actually respect true Goldwater conservatives who are not obsessed with the GOP social agenda.

I've even said that I would consider voting for Romney if he returned to his previous self before he felt the need to try to sway the right-wing base and adopt their social agenda.
