Can a person be against Gay Marriage and not be a bigot?

Can a person be anti Gay marriage and not be a bigot?

So thr 80% of the people in this country who are against gay marriage are ignorant and your the smart one.........:rofl

Where do you get this 80 % figure from?

Actually that isn't what he said. As per usual, Navy Pride made broad generalizations. Though it is true, many people on the left do characterize gay marriage opponents as bigots and homophobes. Sometimes they are correct, sometimes they aren't. Like both sides of the political spectrum, they make broad generalizations about the side that they don't agree with in an effort to further their own agenda..just as Navy Pride did.

I have heard people like you call anyone who disagrees with them on the gay marriage issue bigots...............I myself have been called that many times in this forum.......Even gay people I know agree that I am no bigot..........

its just and estimate...........every state that has voted on the gay marriage issue has voted against it................that is 100% of the 31 states who have voted............

Lol! Wait a minute...you mean you've actually ASKED a gay person that you know if you are a bigot? Or they've told you that they think you are not just out of the blue, despite your views on marriage equality and other gay-related issues?

Inquiring minds...

So now we go from 80% to 100% that is quite a misrepresentation. In Texas when gay marriage was on the ballot to amend the Texas Constitution 13% of the eligible voters showed up and not all of them voted to amend the Texas Constitution. So I would argue your 80% figure is extremely misleading (and I think you are doing it on purpose for propaganda) and the majority really just don't care one way or the other if gays get married.

Side note: If you don't vote, you don't count. (or get counted, rather)

The answer to your question is no. However, I think you may not be the sharpest tool in the shed. Now, was it worth it to insult me?
