It is to me, and I don't use it, but I find it interesting how Hobo is trying to make the two phrases comparable.
Come on you guys, ya all know 'wetback' is derogatory. It's a slur.
OK, I'm a new kid on the block, so I haven't taken the time to read all the comments. I don't find the term offensive, but it is confusing when we have issues such as health care, education, and driver's licenses for illegal aliens.
It makes this ole' country boy scratch his head and ask what illegal really means. Seems to me that if they are illegal, none of these other issues would really matter. Just pack them up and send them home. Isn't that they way every other country in the free world does it?
Ummm... No kidding?

Is wet alien OK? How about Illegalback?
Hey, Tucker it's been awhile .
I think I'll stick with LAWBREAKER.
After all it's self explanitory.

I prefer the term moist alien, myself. Using the word wet is demeaning to wet people.
How about dewy aliens? Or, mildly damp aliens?
How about dewy aliens? Or, mildly damp aliens?
I don't think that would work.
Afterall you could get damp by just sweating all people sweat.lol
But most people sweat legally.
Hey, you know things are pretty confused when Sammy Hagar writes a song about wetbacks crossing the borderline. Does this one make us want to help or build better fences?
YouTube - Avenida Revolucion CHICKENFOOT with Lyrics
Rio Grande crawling with desperation
Hard drugs linin' the gunny sack
The air is thick with desperation
A new life waits for the wetback
Crossing the borderline
Into the fire
Now this is where Juan left his family
You can still smell the blood in his tracks
Yeah, and this is where we found the baby, oh
From here, there ain't no turnin' back
Crossing the borderline
Into the fire
Crossing the borderline
Into the fire
Import, transport, exportation
Rights of nations, exploited salvation
Damnation under one God's fixation
Without deportations, predjudice with limitations
Yeah, Avenida Revolution
Nogales Tiajuana meets the County Juarez
We got flowers, crosses and no solution, oh
Stay close and do what Mommy says, what Mommy says, Mommy says
Well, crossing the borderline
Into the fire
Crossing the borderline
Into the fire
Darn I hadn't thought of that , but what if the legal's VISA expires?
I think the PC term would be "Dryness-impaired extraterrestrials"
Good immigrants only take American Express!
You're so good at this. I can never attain your level of double-speak.
Hell not its not offensive. Neither is the term "illegals". What is offensive is an attempt be pro-criminals/pro-illegals to try to lump illegals in with immigrants by calling them "immigrants" or "undocumented immigrants" or lumping illegals in with Americans by calling illegals "undocumented Americans". This offensiveness is nothing more than attempt on their part so they can falsely claim they are fighting for immigrant rights or falsely claim that illegal immigration opponents are anti-immigrant. It would be like lumping all Europeans in with Eurotrash just by simply referring to both as eurotrash.
