I think Bush was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, never took responsibility for anything in his life, was a drunken cheerleader in college & only ran for the presidency to show his Dad. He was a disaster for this country rivaling the Civil War. (other than that....I liked the guy);)

Ha ha, that sort of sums up my feelings... :rofl

I liked him as a person and a President but many of his policies I did not agree with at all.

I'm sure he's a cool guy he just shouldn't have been in charge of anything. Evar.

Yup....Me & a majority of the American electorate.
Your views may represent a majority here on this forum..... or maybe just the most vocal......but the majority of American voters disagree with you to the point that we elected a relatively unknown black man (with a crazy Reverend) as President over a war hero...long-time GOP Senator & then threw out Norm Coleman (Minn. GOP) for a newcomer COMEDIAN!
I think the majority of voters are like me....We are not staunch Democrats but we have been driven away from the GOP & will vote for almost anyone but a Republican now. Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin & Dick Cheney are the GOP today & we won't soon make the mistake of giving their greed & hatred control of this country again.

Let me add that he was the opposite of "the Midas Touch." Hmmmmm... what would that be? Having the "Poo Poo Touch?" Pre-Presidency, it seemed everything he touched turned to poo. That didn't change during his tenure.

I will say that his wife Laura is a lovely person, and was a fine First Lady. I also do not think he's the evil person some have made him out to be. To me, he just didn't have the Presidential qualities needed to do the job.

As a European, both Dubya and Blur are a pair of currish malmsey-nosed rancid toss pots.

Somewhere between Mediocre and below average. I went with Mediocre as I think its closer to that.

Have you actually asked each person?

Have you actually asked each person?

Why yes! (I have the list too!)

Some people just left messages on my machine but I finally heard from the last American voter last night at 9:17pm

Bush has a lot of class. I admire that in people. Yes, I still like him.

Is he still working on that degree after all of these years? :2razz:

Gee, you'd think he'd get honorary ones by now, and not have to work as hard.

Bush is a professor. He teaches advanced decoupage class to many of his neighbors. He's considered a true master.

"You're only as good as your brush."

As I discuss in this post: http://www.debatepolitics.com/polls/58285-who-still-likes-bush.html#post1058308757 Bush planned and executing the war well. Shortcomings in the 2004-2007 timeframe were overcome by Petraeus' counterinsurgency strategy, which Bush was smart enough to buck the CW and support. Bush's legacy looks pretty good these days as Iraq avoids descending into civil war. Look out Iran.

Really all other policy decisions by Bush are secondary to this one.

Decoupage? Is that some type of scrapbooking? :2razz:

I never particularly cared for him as President, but the longer time goes, the more the meaning of historical context kicks in, and I begin to have a deeper appreciation for either the enormity of the decisions before him or the choices he made. I doubt I will ever say I liked his Presidency, but there is something to be said about being placed under unique circumstances and how those circumstances could so quickly and so dramatically alter their perceptions for how they wish to govern, what issues to pursue, and how they wish to be remembered.

dems are always substituting quantity for quality

its easy to get a majority when you buy their votes with the money of a hard working and productive minority

greed and hatred is what motivates the left. The right is about achievement and free enterprise-the left is about taking from that from those who cannot or will not achieve--or gaining power by catering to the parasite class

No kidding.
"Vote for me and I'll get you free money from the rich!"
How can you NOT win?

Why not just say self-interest guides humanity instead of making it a silly right versus left argument when it's really the same thing.

try actually arguing against the post rather than spewing nonsense.

what do you think Obama did when he said he was going to cut taxes for 95% even though almost half of those people don't even pay federal income taxes and then saying those who make over 250K a year were going to get soaked for the increased public spending Obama and his marxist lapdogs promised?

its buying the votes of the many using the money of the most productive minority

rebut that Obamunist:mrgreen:
