The only time I'd accept a government mandated shot is if we were subject to biological warfare and faced with a 99% deadly, engineered strain of something. Until then, I'd take the fine.
I'm not universally against vaccinations. Many of the traditional vaccinations like tetanus-diptheria, polio, and TB have had great success and the modern risk to having them is low. Something like the flu vaccine is so industry-driven and, in my view, manufactured without sufficient medical trials; it has reached such levels that industry pressure to sell the flu vaccines is overriding rational policy making. I mean, who wants to get Guillain-Barré syndrome just from a desire to be protected from the flu?
