I'll accept that medical marijuana is acceptable for the most extreme cases of nausea if nothing else works (even though I'm pretty sure there are substitutes), but find the idea that it can prevent memory loss simply ridiculous.

but seriously Milton Friedman used to be an extremely sharp thinker. even in his 80s he was sharper than most people are in their prime. i recommend watching his earlier videos though, they're better than the stuff from the 90s.

There is a Candian study where pot showed to increase long term memory yet the downside was short term memory was decreased.

marijuana is a very complex subject. the brain has cannabinoid receptors - why ? they're not there so u could smoke weed that's for sure.

those receptors have some kind of a role in brain function. what is that role exactly is being studied.

but all that is irrelevant. i don't care what benefits marijuana has. it should be legalized along with all other drugs for the reasons described by Milton Friedman.

IMHO if a person can grow it in their back yard it should be legal for them to do just that.

I respect Friedman but I don't agree with him on every issue.
