That's a reasonable position, and I agree with it, mostly. However, I don't think vocal political opposition in the halls of government is that bad really. The Dems booed Bush because they thought he was lying or taking a bad position; that's fine with me. What's-his-face called Obama a liar because...well...Obama was lying; once again, I'm not too concerned with it.

The British Parliament has always been a lively setting. Our political history is full of heated exchanges and outbursts. I think it's a necessary part of the political dialogue.

I start becoming pissed when people attack the personal dignity of a President. That I don't agree with, but booing or calling them a liar? Not a big deal to me, personally.

We as a nation need to stop pointing fingers, and start just condemning those on the lunatic fringe who act the asshole. It is not, and should not be a partisan issue.
    I agree.

The main difference ofc being is that you have a President who represents the United States for all intents and purposes so it makes sense you are more deferential. We have the Queen for that who is put on a stool and never touched or insulted by anyone which gives way for the PM to be kicked about

You just refuted your own argument with the underlined statement.

Good grief, we've always embraced aggressive, rude, and impolite politics in this country.

For decades after the Founding, the hyperpartisan press of the day engaged in routine attacks on the physique of their political opponents.

In the 1860s, we marched armies against each other over politics.

Lies, riots, assault and slander have always been common practices of our political discourse.

Would we be better for being more civil? Of course!, but it takes effort on all sides to arrive at that state, and it would be a severe departure from our history.

That much is true -- the "intent" behind the Michelle/Zira pic was clearly NOT racist, or even uncivil.

How about we just put it this way:

Whoever doesn't see the plain, non-racist humor here has a baseball bat-sized stick up their ass and really needs to lighten up -- for their own good as well as everyone else's.
