So it is retarded to say the Berlin Wall didn't work. If only a 179 people came into the US illegally each year I do not think we would have the 12-20 million plus illegals in this country that we do now.
Yes, and it was heavily manned, plus they shot on site. Much smaller border too.

OK...Same questions to you you then:
How do we decrease "the amount of undocumented entries into the country by 70% the INS could deal with the rest?"

    Please be specific:
How many men will it take? (working in 8 hr shifts)
How much money will it cost?
How high do we build the fence?
How do we fence off the Atlantic & Pacific oceans?

You would be happy with a Berlin-style wall across the entire US-Mexico border? Wow, I really didn't think you'd take the bait but you did and you went way further than I could have imagined.

I for one would be ok with it on a moral basis. Financially ok with it would be another matter.

What, exactly, is wrong with such a thing?

Do you agree with the existence of the Berlin wall, then?

No because of a very big difference between the two. A wall with mexico would be to keep invaders out, the berlin wall was to also keep legal citizens in.

Its not alot different the putting up a security fence around your property. If you erect a fence to protect your property from outside threats it is legal. If you erect that same fence with the intent to hold someone agaisnt there will its a totally different matter.

That is not a problem. Border guards make around 40-80 thousand a year depending on years of service, soldier starting out as E-1 $16,794.00 - O-10 $176,256 a year.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"
