Hey Bod,,,you must be Islamic. Or a great "Candidate" to be one.:)

Your baleful comments are hardly masked by your insecure laughter and insincere smile. You fail at both humor and objectivity. :(

Do you have anything that might resemble insight regarding this topic or are you simply out to engage in pathetic smack?

Do you libs all wear pink panties?

We have to drop bombs every so often to get respect from the other nations on this planet.

War is good for our economy, it helps the defense companies and all their employees.

In previous wars we've won land, or at the very least gained access to valuable natural resources.

We should use our military more often, not less.

I have no issues with us going to war with Saddam Hussein and his regime. I do not believe we should have went with occupation however. Simple removal and retract would have sufficed.

All you have to do is vote and explain why:)

Oil.
We didn't do it without a little something to keep us happy and make it worth our while.

We're still there, because if had left a few years ago, the country would fall into chaos and we would have to go back and start all over again.
never should have been there in the first place. never, ever. unfortunately, we will be paying for that mistake for a long time to come.

However tru you might think that is, it doesnt negate what he said.

One of the most harmful things we have done in re Iraq was giving billions of dollars to fund private military forces who will do what they please in the world.

We are in Iraq because we are terrified of WMDs in the hands of religious fanatics who hate us. And 9/11 cost us a million jobs.

It would have been very hard to invade Iraq if they had no oil or other means to get back on their feet. But that's about all that oil had to do with it.

We have been there as invited peacekeepers since June 28, 2004.

:doh That is fantasy, rather then reality. Iraq was a war that had to do with Geopolitics and American energy interests not some sort of noble crusade.

If you want to believe some sort of fantastic conspiracy theory go ahead. I believe what we were told and there hasn't been a shred of evidence of any sort of plan other than what we were told. We certainly haven't made any money out of the deal. Believe what you like.:2wave:

Rudy Guiliani ( sp ) actually suggested during presidential debates that the reason we have to deal with iran is Oil.

and this was the guy who was supposed to scream about terrorism.

it was 2/3 oil and 1/3 deals for big contractors like blackwater.

9/11 wasn't a cause for the war any more than erection is a cause for sex.

we wanted the war so we bombed ourselves into it. people who died on 9/11 were the first 3,000 that the government sacrificed for money. the next couple thousand who died in iraq were the second round.

We are not at war with Iraq. And you failed to provide, in your poll, a legitimate answer to the question you meant to ask, "Why are we at war in Iraq?"

I would surmise that we probably made a strategic decision to gain a foothold in a part of the world, and all the resources and influence that come along with it, that had previously been out of our reach. Increasing our global presence and influence are good goals and a little more important than your grossly simplified choice of "For the oil".

Cut to the chase, and call it what it is hegemony:)

The initial invasion force defeated the Iraqi Armed Forces, so we were at some point in the campaign at war with Iraq. We have subsequently moved onto a different enemy-made up of all manner of radical groups.

I called it what it was in my post so I don't need you to correct it for me. It was a gambit to give America an influential presence in a formerly closed off part of the world.

So we were never at war with the Iraqi armed forces?

We were at war with Sadam's Republican Guard or whatever he called it. The Iraqi armed forces have been trained by and allied with us since their beginning following the fall of Sadam's regime.

Why Are We At War With Iraq, just to take over their land, just like the Brits,
as we did,u guys are going down the same path, how many more are we going to take,i hope the lot.haha,y not, we are the best.

America and Scotland.

B.S. None of that would have happened, and if so then let Israel sort it out. I mean, if all this is for them, will they reimburse us the trillions of dollars we spent? Iraq was/is a pointless war.

Don't be silly. A wide M.E. war would not be in our interest. We prevented it for OUR interests.

In the vacuum of Saddam's removal Iran would have rushed in and taken over.

Would have?
I thought they already did?

We overthrew the obstacle for Iran and put in its place Shia leaders

I agree. There are plenty of things that we can outsource effectively...but military power is simply not one of them.
