Re: what philosophy do you follow?

I'm not big on names. I prefer to deal with ideas.

As far as that goes, my philosophy is heavily influenced by Nietzsche, Kant, and Confucius. I am bound by honor and obligation to the reputation of my ancestors and the future of my descendants, I must live my life as the example I would set for others, but ultimately all questions of morality and purpose, all definitions of what is "good" to serve my obligations, are mine to answer as I see fit.

I am responsible to an unbroken chain of ancestors dating back tens of thousands of years, responsible for the chain of my descendants yet to come, but in the end the only measure by which I can judge the product of my conduct is my own.

Jesus, Plato, Aristotle, The church fathers, St.Thomas Aquinas and the Schoolmen, St.Francis of Assisi, St.John of the Cross, The judicious Bishop Hooker, The English Platonists and Shakespeare, Coleridge, Lord Northbourne and Rene Guenon to name a few. A very traditional fare you could say. I am quite interested in other philosophies though particularly Eastern ones and those of Judaism, Islam and some other religions like native American Indians and some parts of modern Western philosophy.

If I had to name say three I think I'd go Jesus, Shakespeare and Guenon because they cover all the bases.

I tend to pick and chose from all of them. Even though I will be honest, I do not know who all of those people are. I just tend to take wisdom from all "philosophers".
