Stewart is hilarious and on point. He makes fun of both sides, though the right general feeds more out. The side reports are funny as hell! Did you see the one where they compared the RNC to Katrina? It was hysterical!

That's the best part about him. When someone does something stupid, regardless of the party, he pounces on them. Recently, he's had his hands full with FOX hehe.

I love the Daily Show, but I gotta agree with RightofCenter about Colbert being the man. He's satirical on a Jonathan Swift level.

Review the old Chevy Chase Weekend Updates to refine your sense of satire.

I believe my sense of satire is quite highly honed on such works as A Modest Proposal: For Preventing the Children of Poor People in Ireland from Being a Burden to Their Parents or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Public.

What Swift did in that, Colbert does to a tee.

Oh god. Jonathan Swift wrote about eating children. I don't think I can take Stephen Colbert seriously if every word coming out of his mouth means the opposite of what it sounds like it means. Sarcasm has no place in my book of humor.

Every word that does come out of Colbert's mouth means the opposite of what it sounds like. That's why it's great satire.

Like swift, he takes the oppositions side to the point of absurdity in order to make it the abject of scorn and ridicule. Even when I disagree with his real point, I must give him credit for the beauty of it.

BAH! Didn't I say that that's why I can't stand him?

Regardless, it's a mindboggling way to get a point across, in my opinion. And to be honest, I like the traditional way of debate where we present facts in support of our stance, instead of proposing an insane idea merely to prove a point.

It's never a moot point. When you read Swift, you need to look at the ideas he discards as nonsense, for there is where the meat of his debate is. He offers legitimate solutions and discards them as pure nonsense in order to make his point since the "source" is such a "fool", it makes these options all the more reasonable.

It's truly brilliant when done correctly.

Your Conservative, so you like the one who pretends to be a Conservative Pundit. Stewart is the Liberal's version of Colbert, and the original :)

It's not that I don't like Stewart, he's funny. Colbert is just funnier.

He overuses the pregnant pause and laughs at his own jokes. I don't know how anyone can stand him.

It's the best news source the Libbos have. Give'em a break.

He's the best source just about anyone has...unless you conservies count Fox as reliable...

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are both very funny, but it's silly to compare them. They are also very different.

For straight ahead humor, Colbert's deadpan style is hilarious. But Jon Stewart is a great interviewer - it's obvious that he's very politically knowledgeable off the cuff. Colbert's interviews seem more like routines.

I love them both, though.
