Is health care in the US a right?

Is health care a right?

OK...Last time I will play your little "Prove It" game:

1. my statement above was obviously meant to convey my anger at insurance companies who unarguably make great profits of the medical misfortune of others by routinely denying payment for healthcare that would cut into their profit. (I know...I know....Prove it.....right!
2. It is possible that many of the neighbors of insurance company exec's are the one they deny coverage too.

OK that's better, not great but better.

When you make a claim, the burden of proof is on you. I should not have to ask you for proof or evidence.

Don't just make claims and then (as you tried what 4 times above) avoid the persons point and act like it is some kind of debate. Debating is about putting forth facts to back your position, not opinion. Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. So they mean little.

Now....How about you proving your contentions I pointed out in post #95 above?

Fallacy.

What's a fallacy?...You didn't make those claims?

I'm simply asking you to prove what you claim as facts....(you know....just like you do all the time);)

I'm asking you to live up to your own standard you set below:

"When you make a claim, the burden of proof is on you. I should not have to ask you for proof or evidence.

Do you really want to look stupid? And yes it is a fallacy, you are trying to use my response to someone else to deflect from your own incompetent posting.

#1 Subjective
#2 Property is not free. Common sense.
#3 They waited until the Republicans started smearing the Bill to say anything about it. Big mistake and common knowledge.

Now if you are done with your deflections and fallacy arguments?

"When you make a claim, the burden of proof is on you. I should not have to ask you for proof or evidence.

I think I made my point.......but I could respond this way:

#1 Subjective....Prove it is subjective
#2 Property is not free. Common sense......Prove property is not free & then prove what you say is common sense.
#3 They waited until the Republicans started smearing the Bill to say anything about it. Big mistake and common knowledge.....Prove they waited...Prove it was a big mistake....& then prove it is common knowledge.

Do you understand that constantly falling back on the "Prove It" tactic is ineffective & boring as a debate tactic?

Have proof of that statement you claim as a fact?

Do you understand when you make a claim you need to have evidence? Do you understand the burden of proof is on you?
How about providing some proof to back that claim up?

"When you make a claim, the burden of proof is on you. I should not have to ask you for proof or evidence.

Proof please

Don't just make claims and then (as you tried what 4 times above) avoid the persons point and act like it is some kind of debate.
You constantly claim facts & offer no proof to support them!
Prove that what you claim about me is true!

(getting my point yet.......Bored yet?.......Getting frustrated yet???)

Not really. As I already said if you want to make yourself look like an idiot and continue your fallacy argument, you go for it.

A difference exist between a reasonable request for facts to support a position and silliness.

You & I finally are in total agreement about something!!!:applaud

No we are not. You seem to think the garbage you are spewing is reasonable, it's not. It is stupid and completely lacks in common sense.

Maybe one day you will understand the quotes above. I doubt it, but maybe one day.

If we are now playing the 3rd grade game of "Got Ya Last"............You win.

Property they must get for themselves, nothing is supposed to be free ride.

.

Of course, the intent was to allow us to own property, if we can pay for it. There should be no "landed gentry" in this country keeping the peasantry from rising above their "station".
Likewise, we should be allowed healthcare, but we must pay for it. One way to pay for it is more acceptable than another, and that varies based on opinion.

Back.......Time to have a little more fun!

No we are not. You seem to think the garbage you are spewing is reasonable, it's not. It is stupid and completely lacks in common sense.

Have any proof that what I'm spewing is garbage?
Have any proof that " It is stupid and completely lacks in common sense"??

"When you make a claim, the burden of proof is on you.

Debating is about putting forth facts to back your position, not opinion.
Have proof that debating is "about putting forth facts to back your position, not opinion"????

Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. So they mean little.
Have proof that EVERYONE has an asshole? (maybe some people had a Cancer operation & don't have one anymore?.....Maybe some people have 2??)
BTW....I hope you appreciate the good str8 line I just left you.;)

Yes it is (please explain)
No it is not (please explain)

I don't think it is a defined by the Constitution in any way. I feel it is just another move by the government for more control over our lives, period.

Other.

Medical care should always be a negative right and never a positive right.

People are so very foolish to believe this nonsense that you should be given Medical care.
The irrational, illogical thinking of some people blows the mind and shows me that they only parrot what they have heard off of TV and don't think critically for themselves.

Also Medical care is not the same as Health care.
We should be making a distinction about this more often.

Moderator's Warning:
Bait post. Knock it off, Devil.

we have a right to not have health care but in turn we do not have the right to have it if that makes scents

If you truly believe that healthcare/food/shelter are rights, then you should do everything you can to ensure that others have those rights. There are millions of people starving to death who could be saved by you donating to help them. If you really believe that these are fundamental human rights, then you have a moral obligation to donate everything beyond what you need to live in order to help these people.

If you're not willing to do that, then you're just telling yourself you give a **** because you want to make yourself feel better about your refusal to give up your nice life.

Whether I give a **** or not is up to others to say - the ones that know me, that is. You don't know me, so you don't count.

Anyway, this isn't about me. This is about Americans being given the opportunity to see to it that other / all Americans have their quality of life improved through UHC. Perhaps someone can start a thread on whether "quality of life" is a right, as well - and add it to all the other nonsense questions that people don't seem to have the common sense / decency to know for themselves.

Like a sea of people with their hearts sucked out and who don't know the laws / the way of "human decency" - who don't know how to emulate / don't know how to be closer to their god by doing the right / by doing what would be the generous / benevolent / "sacred" thing to do.

The complaints and whining against UHC are oceans apart from behaviour even remotely godlike or sacred.

At the end of the day, I seriously don't think God will discriminate between those that claim to be religious... and those claiming not to be. In the final summation, God will judge our actions, how we treated our fellow man / woman... and will take a look to see what we have in our hearts... will look for our intent towards others. And will even look to see how we regard those others that fall by hard times and can't afford health care. If we continue to rubbish people that are down and out, that cannot afford health care, then God will most likely turn around and rubbish us, too.

Oh, the guns to the head, and the rest of the bluster of lunatics trying to shutdown UHC. The devil would be so proud the way some people are begrudging others a better quality of life.

34 years of UHC in Australia... and the sky hasn't fallen down. The ocean hasn't devoured us...

If the maniacs through their bluster stop UHC from getting through, it will be a sorry day. To those who whinge and whine and begrudge others receiving a better quality of life through UHC, I'd say that your line to God is stuffed, kaput, and no longer works. You must be talking to yourselves... cos God would shout down the lot of you and dress you down for your bluster and whining over UHC. How do I know? Bloody common sense, that's all.

If you can't tell the difference between a right and a wrong... if you have to ask what a "right" is - and then have to refer to dictionaries and constitutions... then you obviously don't know the reason that you were given a heart and a mind for.

Pathetic.

& believe me.....I am very proud of them & send them out to town hall meetings every day!! (deep....evil laugh)

(just as soon as they get out of their GOP strategy meetings)

Self righteous garbage.

That was quite a sermon. I am certain if God wanted us to have UHC he would have crested it for us.

Don't try and use religion to force your views on people. No place in any Bible does it say anything about Jesus wanting the Romans to give everyone health care. He does mention a thing or two about being a hypocrite and sitting in judgment of others though.

The rest is nothing but a useless appeal to emotion and useless for anything including an argument.

Most people do want health care reform, they don't want Obama care in it's present form.

Next time pull the board out of your own eye.

I'll bet you don't see the tremendous irony in your side saying that.

Please point out where I am trying to force my religious views on anyone? Please tell me oh great and powerfull cubbyhole guy who or what "my side" is?

Wow, what a moronic argument.

Since your views represent the GOP more than the Dems & since the current day GOP has been hijacked (imo) by the "Born-Again" religious Right who have used their intolerant religious views as a hammer, I was referring to your side (GOP) in general & not specifically you as an individual.

Please tell me oh great and powerfull cubbyhole guy who or what "my side" is?

IMO, your views normally represent the anti-Obama.....anti-Dem side of the equation & therefore fall more into pushing the GOP's argument than not. Therefore...Your side is the GOP. (they are the ones you try to help in almost every post you make.........in my subjective, unprovable, no claim of proof...opinion.;)

I am not a member of the GOP and not a Republican. So you are in error. My views represent the Constitution party of which I am a member.

So I guess the whole world breaks down into Republicans Vs Democrats even though we have many different party's and beliefs.

So I guess this is at play again?...

Yeah right.......Nobody admits to being a Republican anymore except this guy:

(I see you're a Libertarian.........AKA a Republican to embarrassed to admit the truth!):lol::lol:

Like moderates who have no use for cubbyholes?...

"I consider myself a moderate but I don't think cubbyholes are very meaningful." - Devil505 - http://www.debatepolitics.com/us-el...-rebuild-your-coalition-8.html#post1058215722

Talk about hypocrisy.

This is the second time you have tried this hypocritical stance. Care to apologies now? Or do you want to argue about it first?

IMO, your views normally represent the anti-Obama.....anti-Dem side of the equation & therefore fall more into pushing the GOP's argument than not. Therefore...Your side is the GOP.

And your opinion is hyper partisan garbage with little or no knowledge of what my beliefs are.

All you know about me politically is that I consider both party's corrupt and the same. And yet somehow I am Republican.

Reality is a hell of a trip huh?

Since the reality of our political system is that only the 2 major parties have any real chance of having power for the foreseeable future, to constantly attack just one party makes you....Defacto, a supporter of the other party.
Like it or not, that is the effect.

What I know is that .....in our two party system......constantly denigrating one side has the effect of enhancing the other. Therefore, whether you claim to be a Repub or not makes no difference.Your posts Aid/support the GOP.

So instead of going after what I say, you go after what party affiliation you think I am supporting even though it is wrong?

OK if that is the best rebuttal you can come up with to my post. We are done here.
