hell at my towns high school, in the 80's, I could get dynamite in 48 hours.
drugs are easy to get, just go down to your nearest Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, unfortunately :2razz:

I just moved to DC and I only know two people here (neither of whom uses drugs). Yet I am still confident that I could find drugs within a few hours if I was so inclined, starting with absolutely no idea how to go about it.

I would have to disagree. For decades I've watched police powers of search and seizure expanded to ridiculous lengths in the name of drug enforcement, things that in 1970 we would have considered intolerable are fairly commonplace now.

It isn't that "we aren't doing it right/enough", its that enforcement isn't the way. IMO what decline there has been in drug use has been about people choosing not to abuse drugs, not enforcement or fear of it.

Rob a liquor store, get drunk, drive away from the crime scene, prank call the police and run over a by-stander?

Drop me in virtually any U.S. city of 10k+ people and give me 48 hours, and I'm sure I would have little difficulty there either (especially if they have at least 1 bar).
 
It was depressing to realize that it would now take me upwards of 4 or 5 hours to collect everything.

I'm so uncool nowadays. :(
 
I have an email acct that I have had for 13 years.

I get offers for all sorts of things in my spam folder.

I don't know if any of them would actually be delivered though.

Untrue. Cops conduct frequent random inspections at Fed-ex shipping facilities, with drug dogs.
 
I can get as much weed as a person has the money for...within a couple hours. I can get coke and pills as well. 'Shrooms are readily available, and I hear that acid is as well...but I don't do those things. Anymore. :mrgreen:

Living in a rural area, I can also procur meth easily; however, I have never touched that crap and don't hang with people who have anything to do with stuff like that.

I could get illegal drugs pretty quickly. Prescriptions drugs would be a bit harder and would take longer, but I'd find a doctor eventually.

Of course I could. Isn't America like one of the largest consumers of illegal drugs? Then obviously, there has to be a place near by in which someone is selling something.
 
I could easily get my hands on weed and hard drugs if I was so inclined. Prescription drugs, that would be more challenging. I'm sure I could eventually do it, but it wouldn't be nearly as easy as the other options.

I think this does go a long way to show just what a failure our "War on Drugs" is. Drugs are bad for people so we ban them. Except drugs are still readily available to anyone who is sufficiently motivated to aquire them. And as a fringe benefit, the money the drug trade generates goes into the hands of criminals to fund all sorts of other unsavory things. Yay! A rousing success!
