I don't understand people that single out one right in the constitution and act as if the entire war of independence was fought over that one right alone and that the war is still being fought over that one right today.
You might be accurate if I had used that statement as an opposition to your transparently dishonest "gotcha" poll. However, it was a statement to another poster about a different, albeit related, side conversation.
I suggest you familiarize yourself with terms like you just used before you find yourself misapplying them again.
I disagree with this statement. I do not think that is true in this country any more.
I respectfully submit that I believe you are mistaken. Gun rights are necessary. Our country came about as a result of citizen soldiers: farmers, merchants, tradesmen, who took up arms and fought for their liberties. And, that's why our founding fathers encoded protections of that right into our bill of rights: In case tyrants once again claimed power in the U.S.
