Do you believe that opposition to Obama is mostly based on his race

Nah. The issues that have people up in arms over are justifiable. I'm not sayiing I agree with the opposition--just that it isn't nonsensical for somone to claim it's due to race.

Absolutely not. I do not oppose Obama's policies based on anything other than they are ridiculous and dangerous policies. Obama is a socialist and his "change" is detrimental to the American way of life. The fact that his skin is darker than mine bears no weight in why I oppose him. Are there those who oppose him based solely on the color of his skin? Of course there are, but those numbers are so small and insignificant that it is barely worth a mention.
Welfare (Food Stamps, WIC, etc...) are not entitlements. They are taxpayer funded handouts and shouldn't be called entitlements at all. Social Security and Veteran's benefits are 'Entitlements' because the people receiving them are entitled to them. They were earned and paid for by the recipients.

Mostly? No. For some people? Sure. For some it's simply because there was a donkey next to his name on the ballot. For others it's that he really is quite liberal and they disagree. For some it's all three. He's a black, liberal democrat. Somehow I could predict Hannity not liking that.

He's more liberal than me. That's the biggest factor, I think. If he were conservative, I doubt 96% of republicans would have had any qualms, at all, about voting for a black man.

I mean, there's always the idiotic fringe, but by and large, I don't see the Republicans as any more racist than the Democrats.

On another board that I was posting on, during the days leading up to the Democratic primaries, the racist whites came out of the woodwork of the Democratic party, and it was not pretty. One kept referring to Obama as the "lipsticked pig."

Mostly, no. There is certainly some opposition to him based on his race, and listening to white men call him racist is surreal and hilarious, but most opposition to him is based on his being a liberal.

Why does it not surprise me that goldendog believes that race is the reason for our opposition to Obama?

The opposition to Obama is due to political differences, this is no different than when democrats opposed Bush or when republicans opposed Clinton. Its like the morons who claim Obama is a closet muslim or not a natural born American, its not due to race but due to desperation of losers, just like when the Bush bashers made lies up lies that Bush stole the elections,Bush went AWOL,Bush lied for Iraq, Bush masterminded 9-11 or some other crack pot leftist conspiracy theory meant to try to discredit Bush. Anyone who says its due to race is a ****en race baiting moron or a race parasite moron.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Re: Do you believe that opposition to Obama is mostly based on his race

The opposition to Obama stems from philisophical differences, not race. Anytime a President challenges the status quo, there will be opposition from those who have something to lose, and those who are uneducated or misinformed and think that they have something to lose.

Nothing to do with race, just his policy. It was bound to grate on some peoples nerves.

I mean i'm sure there are some that dislike him because of his skin colour but they are a minority.
