Personally I have a difficult time believing you took a comment from WR seriously enough to start a poll on it.

The concept that most people pay no attention to the blatant power grabbing policies and resist solely on a racial issue is ludicrous. The issues directly affecting people are more than enough to set them off.
    Thank you

Personally, to deny that race is a factor in some anti-Obama opposition (to the first black American President) is just kidding yourself. Now, there can be legitimate argument about the amount of race based opposition & where it's coming from but to deny A NY is just naive, imo.
What you deem as "blatant power grabbing policies" ....I see as saving our economy & HC system, & was begun u nder the prior administration meaning BOTH parties felt it was the right thing to do........UNTIL a Democrat sat in the White House..

You're right that to deny that there isn't ANY racism in some peoples choice to oppose Obama is "naive". (I'd use a different word myself but...) However to believe that it is a majority is just as naive. I personally have nothing against some form of UHC. The government does have an interest in keeping it's population healthy and serving those that don't have health insurance.

What I don't like is how this bill, in it's current form, is proposed. It is in effect taking our right to choose away.

There is no final bill proposed yet. Problem with the GOP is they really will be against ANY bill & want to keep the status quo. They are the voice of the insurance & pharmaceutical industries & will be against ANY bill as being bad.

If they really favored HC reform, where were they for the last 8 years when Congress worried about steroid use in baseball & Terry Schiavo.

    I support HC reform.

    I oppose UHC.

That is a simplisitic way of stating my position.

What specific HC reforms do you favor & why do you oppose the concept of UHC?

What do you think that people should just not talk about it? Or let the current proposed bill pass as is with no question? Stating that there is no final bill proposed yet is basically saying just that. If the current proposed bill was not questioned and railed against politicians will think that the bill is ok as is and have no problem passing it.

It doesn't matter what did/didn't happen in the past. This is what is happening NOW.

Which is why he said "in its current form" and not "final bill".

Key word...SOME not MAJORITY. What you are arguing is that the MAJORITY of Obama opposition is based on race, and that is simply not true.
