I was perhaps not specific enough. In fact, I know I wasn't.

I was refering to those laws and legislations which specified different requirements for some people who looked or sounded different. Such is, IMO, discriminatory.

I further add that I do not in any way dislike laws which punish obvious and blatent racial/sexual discriminatory behavior in a decision process.

I specifically stated "ANY group which supports/advocates for only one portion of the human race... "

The NAACP, as far as I am aware, does not advocate for only one portion of the human race.

Kind of makes you wonder how bad the other parties screwed the people for them to resort to voting for racist.

Affirmative action should have been stopped a long time ago regardless of the race of the president, black history month should be eliminated and integrated into regular history and race based groups should have also been discouraged. How can we sit there and tell out kids that a persons skin color doesn't matter if we have segregated history, race groups, racist discriminatory practices called affirmative action and a lot of forms have select your race?

We haven't had a female president. or even a female vice president.
Does this mean then that you support continued affirmative action for females?

Affirmative action laws are blatant racism and sexism written into law. I cannot believe they haven't been deemed unconstitutional yet.

The one thing imo that has kept what racism and bigotry there is going are statistics. You almost can't go through one single day where you don't hear of some statistic that seperates the different races. For example....

What specific instances of racism/sexism are you referring to and how do you plan on rectifying those disparities?

Why is that? Have you been watching a different government than the one I have?

It makes total sense that Affirmative action was put into place. Instead of using Occam's Razor, and doing the simple thing, by simply stating that nobody can be discriminated against due to race/gender etc....and allowing those who had been previously discriminated against to rise up and take control of their own destiny, we decided we would reverse the ship and make it so that if we "fix the numbers" regarding racial/gender quotas, we would have absolved discrimination. So instead of people receiving jobs/benefits on the basis of their ability, we propped up a faux "equality" that was handed out, not achieved through effort and skill.

It's about par for the course as far as our government goes. Take a good and noble idea, and take it in 100 wrong directions.

BTW, I couldn't answer the poll because it doesn't have the option that I would consider appropriate.

It is undeniable that racism and bigotry do still exist. So we're not completely equal yet.

But AA has always been a mistake imo. There are better ways to go about getting rid of racism and bigotry.

Well I am a white male, and I can say i've had it pretty easy my whole life.

I've never been racially profiled or discriminated against.

Every door I've ever knocked on (literally and figuratively) has always opened up for me.

I honestly can't think of a black man I would want to trade places with.
