A voucher program would basically give money to poorer families to attend private schools. Do you support an idea like this? I am still on the fence about it.
I generaly support voucher programs, yes.

It's the same money collected from tax payers, spent on tax payers.

The change you make by instituting a voucher program is who gets to control the cash. By taking it out of the hands of the government, who make decisions for political reasons, and placing it in the hands of the individual citizen, schools would be forced to perform or close.

Yes, some schools would close, and that's as natural as a tree shedding dead branches. Others will take the place of any failed school and try to make it work. Many will succeed. Those who still fail, will be replaced by new entrepreneurs, and so it goes.

Capitalism at it's best.

Vouchers would be a win-win solution ! But you would have to do it right...
So as long as the DEMS&REPS are in charge I don't think it will happen! But
this is all you have to do:

Say your state spends $10K per year on a child's education.
Then offer a $5K per year voucher to each student !!

So for every kid that goes to a private school the State Spends $5K "LESS" !!!

Now every kid that goes to a private school the will get a better education,
and will most likely be a better member of society. Plus most kids that grad
from a private schools goes to college.
(I know that there a some pub. Schools that out perform privates ones, but
they are in rich neighborhoods and are far and few between.)

...stuff and things...

This, as I see it, is one of the key problems with our current public school system. If you live in a rich area, your school is likely better than one in a poorer area. Thus, because of lower quality education, people stay in the poorer area. Poor quality schooling, IMO, is one cause of poverty in the United States.
