Business has consistently landed us in the cold by virtue of greedy and other such vices. are we know to trust them with the dearest of possession; our healths and ultimately our lives?

What I found incredibly ironic is what Obama said in his Press Conference yesterday. He said that medicare and medicaid were one of the leading causes of our accumulating national debt. He then advocated government-run healthcare, even after acknowledging that government run medicare/medicaid was a huge problem. Huh? It got worse when he said he would use other health care funds for his healthcare plan. Funds to pay off medicare and medicaid you mean? Where is he getting this money?

One of the other things he said is that no money is going into medicare. If that's true then what is the $45 premium that my dad pays every month going towards?

The same as was in my post long time ago. Even made my change in bold red coloring. Even had the guy that I quoted asking for me to be punished IIRC.

Here's a link to the thread that I am talking about. Scroll down you should see it...

Here are the new numbers. And this as Pelosi confirms that she has back room-dealed enough John McSpecter Judas votes to force the destruction of health care down our throats.

So where do people stand here?

I noticed that all the conswervatives are voting for "free market" ...

LOL

Yes.

Businesses invent drugs, create medical supplies, run hospitals etc.

Governments invent tax codes, red tape and pogroms.

whoa...the majority want's free-market health care here...I seriously was not expecting that. I thought most would be for the "in between" choice. :shock

Yeah man I used to just blindly follow this plan, but it doesn't look good. I reject mainly because I will be going into the health care field and aspiring to have a small business, I don't know how it will affect this. But I also have yet to see a solid option in response to the public option.

I saw somewhere on CNN or something that the uninsured will not be completely insured until 2013. :doh

Ok but here's part of the problem; to me, it seems like the media is amplifying the problem. Every news channel makes it look like health care is the biggest problem the U.S. has right now. Whatever.

I can't believe I'm saying this but if this whole thing goes through I think it will be the beginning of me turning against Obama. :(

Seriously. We all know Obama is the biggest problem, but I doubt the media will cover that like it does healthcare.

It certainly isn't the biggest problem and so for anyone to state as such, is fallacious.

The countries biggest problem is over all debt, until that is handled there should be no further debt added.

The real problem that's related to this issue is probably social security, mainly because my generation (I am in my 20s) will likely have nothing when we retire unless something isn't done.

Of course, that seems like its an issue that will be dealt with after Obama's term, even if he is re-elected.

I'd say the issue larger than SS is Medicaid and Medicare.

They are the obese gorillas in the room that are far more of a threat to our national budget than anything else.

They are using there own damn money. People that opt for a public plan does pay taxes and will also have to PAY for their insurance. You are aware of this right?

Then why are they trying to find a way to finance the plan? If everyone that had it payed it all, there wouldnt be an issue. Its when they force people that do not want the plan to still pay for it that I have a serious problem with.

Oh great! We all know what happens when the US government declares a war on something, like the War on Drugs, War on Poverty, etc. I suppose, less money in my pocket, more regulations, and less freedom.
Ah, let freedom ring!
