Umm...I think you are confusing newscaster with opinion show host...

I agree, especially NPR is a superb news outlet even though it has a liberal slant.

It does? Personally I think NPR gives all POVs respect above and beyond the call of duty.

I don't watch any of those on the poll.

Trevor McDonald and Jon Snow.
My favourites.

I listen to NPR ~2 hours/day. Their slant is most obvious when you look at which issues they choose to discuss. They also don't have anyone as a counterweight to Daniel Schorr and their Saturday programming is OVERTLY left of center.

Terry Gross's interview with Rick Santorum was very respectful and understanding IMHO. The one with Gene Simmons well it is just a classic.

2 pieces don't make an argument.

They do lean left, but at least they have qualified people talking and they actually talk like humans, not some code words and talking points. You can gain alot of information there, obviously not all of it since they do slant left.

None of the above or Walter Cronkite...The listed ones are all entertainers:(

Agree 100%, but why is it that PBS does this "left lean" thing ?

Jim Lehrer is the best newscaster in the business. The perceived left lean of PBS is mostly due to their generally objective coverage, intelligence and reporting of the facts. Compare that to Sean Hannity and you can see why it gets called left leaning. In actuality there is no shortage of conservative analysts and brilliant conservative minds appearing nightly on PBS.

Best ever? JOHN STOSSEL.

Of the ones listed, possibly Glenn Beck. But he is far behind Stossel.

Looks like I'll have to start watching Anderson Cooper.

Beck really digs into things. I can't watch him all the time but learn things every time I do watch him. If he tells me to get my pencil and paper out again I may never watch him again.

Oreilly is basically fair but puts on a lot of stupid Jerry Springer quality subjects and sometimes seems incredibly naive. For instance putting Obama on during the Republican convention. Sell your soul to the devil much?!

Mathews is an idiot!

Thank you for leaving out Oberman!!

Larry King looks like a degenerate and is an interviewer, not a newscaster.

I was beginning to have respect again for Wolf Blitzer but he let me down again over the tea parties and HR3200 protesters comments.

I like Ratigan on MSNBC but he's surrounded by idiots and has to talk down to them all the time, or at least be cognizant of their feelings. I think that and the blatent bias of the network is ruining him.

where is rush limbagh he gets my vote

Never seen his show, but isn't Cooper an actual news caster? He seems to be the only one on the list that is one.
