How Is Your Life Different?

How is your life different because of the Obama Adminstration?

George Bush has been out of office for 7 months. I've heard repeated claims of his evilness. How is your life different? I don't mean what will happen in the future, or what happened in the past. Just today only, are you in more danger because of George Bush. If you don't see a bomb-belted terrorist rattling his saber within 20 feet of your position, you must answer that you are perfectly safe. Okay, let's hear it.

Lets not hear it. If you want to start a thread on it, do it. If you want to derail this one I'll happily show you the exit

Nothing has changed. I still go to work at the same place, making the same as I did 6 months ago. I'm no safer or less safe. My world is no different. Nothing he's done has impacted me in any way. I do expect some future impact. What, when and why I don't know, but every President has done something to directly or indirectly impact me. But to date, there's been nothing.

It hasn't changed tangibly, nor did I expect it to this quickly. Intangibly, I'm not embarassed to be an American anymore, I don't feel we have to apologize for the asshat-in-chief being such a moron anymore and that's certainly a positive.

For the rest, we have to wait and see. It took us more than 6 months to get into this mess, it'll take us longer than 6 months to get out of it.

Hmm. You were "embarrassed" to be an American? How utteryly pathetic.

I don't think being embarassed really impacted your life. I traveled during the Bush years and to the extent anyone talked politics at all (which was rare) I simply told them we have a lot of very stupid people in America and that I had nothing to do with getting W elected. I just concurred that he was indeed a total disaster. But any feelings regarding Bush had no real impact on my life.

You were embarrassed to be an American, eh? So now that you have a President who bows obsequiously to foreign dignitaries and apologizes profusely for you being an American, now you have pride?

The sad part is....I'm not even a little bit surprised. It's what I would expect from the apologistas on the left.

The looming reality of how our lives/lifestyles are necessarily going to change (one of the things Obama has been honest about) in the somewhat near future, is somehow not supposed to change peoples lives in the present?

At present, I haven't noticed any changes. However, I certainly will in the future when the tax burden falls upon me post-graduation.

The bit that angers me most is that I indeed haven't seen a change. For all Obama's promises of fixing the economy, promoting education and green jobs, and despite all the spending authorized, I'm getting nothing.

Not trying to sound selfish, but how is it that with this sudden desire to promote alternative energies, I, a chemical engineering student genuinely interested in solar, nuclear, and and other alternative energies am going to see tuition increases at my state university this fall? Last I checked, engineers create solutions, not taxes.

But to hell with my desires- my family's working class, career military past isn't quite in sync with Obamas plans.

My life hasn't really changed.

I do believe, however, that my life will become better. I'm leaving for college next summer and with all of the planned college programs in Obama's agenda, I can only be optimistic.

Plus, I might be able to aquire the ganja more easily!

Just playing! ;)

So when are you going to thank me for paying for your college....

Will you be sending me money to pay for the college I had to pay for my self?

The sense of entitlement, JEESH! What has become of my country,. :doh:roll:

About the same for me, busy, busy, started getting busy in the last year of the Bush Presidency and cant keep up now. My business… I haul machinery, mostly from companies going bankrupt (industrial auctions).

A good deal of it going offshore. This isn’t the way it used to be, my main business was/is hauling logging equipment kinda morphed into this over the last year or so.
