If Meth Was Legalized...

If Meth Were Legal, Would You Use It?

Yes, addicts are medically ill enough to use whatever they can get hold of to feed the addiction. Unfortunately, meth is one of the most highly addictive substances there is, AND the treatment is very ineffective. There are very few drugs they can use to mitigate the horrible withdrawal symptoms. Unlike other addictions. So, getting a meth addict to a place where the psychological treatment can take place, means putting them through some pretty horrible physical withdrawal.

So what? How does the drug's legal status enter into this? Numerous studies which have already been presented strongly indicate that legalization will not result in an increase in usage.

We don't need to criminalize drugs in order to provide help to addicts.

In a word: Yep. If I wanted to do meth the fact some old white dudes say I cannot would make 0% difference. Who cares?

Why do they gotta be white? HuH?

Why does it have to be like that?

Racist ass motha ****in' racist!

Oh i understand, but methamphetamine and amphetamine are different substances, as are the names "meth" and "speed". As some have pointed out, we give "speed" to our children and scare the public with "meth" or "crank" or "tik", or whatever you choose to call it.

Sure, but as the link says it was specifically meth that the nazis used for blitzkrieg. I had originally heard it on the history channel I think. lol

They don't HAVE to be white. But they are!

What does their race matter? HuH?

You racist?

Yeah, you iz racist.

Pointing out that the people who run my state are old and white is simply a pure matter of fact. Not sure how it's racist. But if it is, I'm fine with it.

Thats what I thought.... racist ...

Meth Usage

Significant numbers of American youth engage in heavy meth use and these numbers continue to increase. Causing damage to property and causing injury to themselves are among the most common problems associated with meth use. Tolerance for meth can develop with chronic use. In an effort to intensify the desired effects, users will take higher doses more frequently. In many cases, abusers go without food and sleep while indulging in a form of binging known as a “run,” injecting as much as a gram every two to three hours over a several day period. This will continue until the user runs out of the drug or is too disoriented to continue. Chronic meth abuse can result in inflammation of the heart lining as well as progressive social and occupational deterioration. Psychotic symptoms can sometimes persist for months or years after use has ceased (drug info).

It kills you, fast! And makes you insane in the meantime. But you do lose weight rapidly!

I see you and Al Sharpton share a common definition of racism. Interesting. And oddly, either one of you calling me one gets the same response. YAWN.

100% .... That's pretty encouraging even if this is a politics forum not a druggie forum.

Not really, mine is more like a feigned definition.

If meth was made legal today, I would not use it.
I have tried it, and I made the choice to stop (individualism, ah).
I have made a similar choice with most drugs.
