Like in the Mel Gibson movie, you come up with a bunch of conspiracies, you might be right on one or two.

Watch what he say's on health-care, He will be right on that and far more to come with Obama in office.

The poll question "How crazy is glenn beck", assumes that Glenn Beck is crazy at all. Which is clearly a personal attack against him. It's the same as asking "how often do you beat your wife?". As a response, I attack you the same way. Nothing personal, just using the same tools you use against certain figures in the media. Again, not because I hate you, only to point your false technique here.

 That was just to get your attention. You still have the option of saying he's "not crazy at all." Anyway you're right I phrased it wrong.

Oh so, you admit that the video is completely irrelevant? Why did you post it then?

Tell where exactly I said that the video is completely irrelevant. It is a visual aid and example.

Oh, so you think taking phone calls = crazy, then?

I didn't say that.

Or that having a 98 men's short-spike hair cut = crazy?

I didn't say that.

You used the video as an example and considering that those are the only things in the video....... Oh yea, the video was irrelevant.

At least its about Glenn Beck, so its not completely irrelevant.

You. wrote. the. poll. question. In the poll question itself, you state your opinion. Look at the question nice and long. "How crazy is Glenn Beck?". It's a biased question that clearly states that GLENN BECK IS CRAZY and YOU just want to know the quantity. Either you really do have a chip on your shoulder, or you are just bad at writing proper poll questions that don't lead people do think you are biased and already have an opinion about the matter.

Because it would be like this:

"How crazy is Glenn Beck?"
"Glenn Beck isn't crazy."
"Yea, but, how crazy?

Yeah man now that I think about it, maybe I shouldn't have done that. Sorry, I didn't think about that at first. Oops.

I know that, he was attacking me, which adds no value to the conversation.
Are you joking? The main purpose of this post was to throw personal attacks at Glenn Beck! And you get upset because somebody smears you back? :doh

This conversation has no value; it was a joke from post #1.

Yeah man now that I think about it, maybe I shouldn't have done that. Sorry, I didn't think about that at first. Oops.
This concludes todays lesson. Have a good day. :)

Watch what he say's on health-care, He will be right on that and far more to come with Obama in office.

That's not really a conspiracy that Beck dreamed up, though. I don't know any exact numbers, but I bet 10s of millions of people in this country can foresee big problems with national health insurance.

Yeah, he is acting crazy but but the woman herself was just a step or two from frothing at her mouth. :screwy

Well you could say that also.

I don't know if he's crazy but he's #1 on my list of people I'd like to punch in the face.

He's carefully crafted a "shtick", a public persona like other entertainers. He appeals to a certain group of people and says things people are thinking but won't say themselves, the more outrageous, the better. AND he makes good money doing it.

He's just one of the three stooges of the far right, entertaining to some who like that kind of thing. Pretense at being a news commentator, a'la Jerrry Springer style.

Yea kinda like Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.

Okay, come on man, I was being serious, I really apologized why do you have to get like that?

What do you think of Colbert and olberman?

You have nailed it, NDNdancer. It's nothing more than a sctick, which unfortunately, seems to be a part of our television news. I can't help but wonder if it's the audience that has dumbed down and the news caters to the lower demands, or if it's the delivered news that has made us more stupid. In any event, all of the "entertainment" news sucks.

Colbert is on the Comedy Network, so he's hiding under no pretense. If anyone cannot see that his show is completely tongue-in-cheek, then they are a moron.

Olberman, is a different story though. I am not a fan. He's part of our misinformation ills, along with Beck, O'Reilly, et al.

I only ever saw Glen Beck's show, when he was at CNN Headline News and only a few times. I've not heard his radio show, nor seen his show since his move to Fox.

From what I saw at CNNHN, he never came off as shrill. Prehaps a bit whiny at times, but he seldom exuded any of the arrogance and condescension that other political commentators do on a daily basis. I remember him having Ron Paul on his show, exclusively, during the campaign for an interview. I wasn't a Paul fan, but I was dismayed by how his was dismissed by all the other media outlets, even those slanted right. Glen Beck gave him a fair chance, and a fair interview that allowed Paul to expand upon his platform and clear up some misconceptions regarding his campaign.
Beck never wowed me into becoming a fan, but I don't know if he is to blame since no political commentator has made me a fan, at least not on the national scene.
Whatever antics he displays on TV, Glen Beck seems like the kind of guy I'd happily have as a neighbor, so no I do not think he's crazy.

Glenn Beck is just the extreme example of what has gone wrong with journalism and news in today's world. I am really kicking myself for losing this link, but I read a few weeks back an excellent essay someone wrote on this whole subject that include the likes of Beck. The problem with Beck is that he has taken the blending of important issues and turned them into tabloid news. Could anyone ever imagine if Edward R. Murrow, or a young Walter Cronkite, came out of college that most likely they would be unemployed.

For me Glen Beck illustrates the importance of our print media that has taken such beating of late. These yokels not only seek to NOT inform their audience, but worse to actually leave their audience LESS informed than when they began watching. In the same amount of time it takes to watch one of these idiot shows I can have read both the NY Times and Washington Post and be infinitely more informed than even the host on his chosen subject of the day. But then again, they really are not in the business of being informed, but rather the business of selling ad space. And the crazier Beck gets the better for the stock price.

Great post.

If you can find the link to that article, I would so love to read it.

I had thought it was a piece by David Frum that Andrew Sullivan had put on his blog at the Atlantic, but when I went back and looked I could not find it. Could also have been at Daily Beast. I am still searching for it, hopefully I can come up with it again.

He's crazy enough to embrace Ted Nugent's crazy rehetoric who we all know crapped his way out of serving in Vietnam. LOON MEET LOON.
So he embraces what someone else says, and because the other person didn't serve, Beck is crazy. No wonder no one takes you seriously.

You just don't seem to get it (and neither does MG apparently). Beck is not a journalist. Beck entertains and informs. He goes so far over the top with so many of his antics that you can't help but laugh. I enjoy watching his show and I listen to his radio show when I can. He's funnier than say Olbermann. He's just as informative as Olbermann is (more I believe). He holds both party's feet to the fire too.

I've never taken one story Beck, O'Reilly, Olbermann, Matthews or any other pundit as fact. If something interests me, I will research it further on my own. No news organization can be trusted completely and neither can any pundit (which is what Beck is).

What I find comical is that it's always leftists attacking pundits other than "their own". When was the last time a leftist started a thread attacking Olbermann, Matthews or Maddow? Sure, there aren't a lot of righties that create a thread attacking one of their own - no wait, Dana has done that quite often. I guess we need some liberals here that can see things for what they truly are instead of sticking their fingers in their ears and saying "I can't hear you".

David Frum? Hmmmm... that would be interesting. He was a shill for Bush. And speaking of newscasters, his mom was one of the best.

P/N, I don't give a rat's ass whether they are considered newscasters, pundits, hosts or comedians. They are featured on a news network... you know, the place where people normally tune into to get news. I don't want no freakin dog and pony show, or some dumbass crying and playing with dolls. Do you get where I am coming from now? Television news is a freaking joke.

And please, don't tell me that joe schmo doesn't tune in every night and hang by Beck every word and tears. Please.

Glad you know better. Many don't.

Oh, yes... all the time! Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.

Yeah, wish I were as big as those righties who have nothing to say about Air America and Olbermann.

Good lord, want a tissue for that whine? Gimme a freaking break.

Why don't you take a look at what I wrote about Olbermann, in this very thread. Oh, but I didn't start it, damn!!! I guess that makes my thoughts on him null and void.
