Midterm elections -- 2010 -- How will you vote?

How Will You Vote in 2010?

I will vote for any and every non-incumbent who wants less government, less spending, and lower taxes, at every level of government.

Doesn't matter what party affiliation they have. If they are in office, that should disqualify them from holding office.

Well, looks like you won't be voting in the midterm elections

:rofl
That shut me right up

lol Just trying to make my point don't mean to sound harsh.
I just don't like being told what to do, parsley because I am a teen maybe IDK.
Anyway I do not want anyone running my life especially the government.

I agree! :)

Fair enough but keep in mind you have only had 6 months. You can handle 8 years. If your country survived 8 years of Bush, you can handle anything :2razz:

Try having it for 12 years.
Labour has gotten to being such a joke.
You will not believe what teachers do now, i went to my sisters sports day where they do egg races and running etc. and the children were racing and another kid won and with obvious delight started clapping her hands saying she is the winner when the teacher turned and said "No, we are all winners" and proceded to give everyone a medal, even the fatso who came last :doh

Bush = BAD

8 years of this will change America into something you, me, and everyone else will despise. Obama will not win the next term, Why he is trying to change things to fast. What happens when you get no sleep and you have a term paper due in 3 or 4 hours? You rush to get the paper done so you can at least get some credit right? Well you would not have done as good a job on it as if you would have worked on it through out the week. I am the type of person that if I start something I like to do a good job on it and think it through making sure their are no flaws in what I am doing. Obama is that kid that has only got 3 or 4 hours when he has 4 years to think things through.

How will you vote in the 2010 midterm elections?

With Obama sending our economy to Hell in a handbasket, how will you vote for Congress and Senate in 2010?

This poll is multiple choice.

I am having a hard time with your poll answers; fiscal is not the prism that I see candidates thru.

Are you just upset because there isn't a solid facist candidate to vote for?

Is there ever? Even leaving aside the absurdity of electing a Fascist government, I am more upset by the fact that there simply hasn't been a responsible candidate available to vote for President for the last eight years-- the last three elections-- and I am increasingly viewing the complete lack of suitable candidates as further evidence of democracy's failure as a political system and the people's inability to effectively govern themselves.

I'm a grown man and mature enough to understand I'll never see a candidate or party that represents everything I want for my country. But we have moved beyond the realm of acceptable compromises, of gritting our teeth and dealing with the candidate who's "good enough", into the realm of our government being effectively controlled by two reckless, irresponsible, and stupid political parties that cannot be counted on to provide even the barest minimum of sensible policy.

Since when is American politics a race to the bottom, a contest to see who can do the most long-term damage to our political and economic systems in the shortest amount of time?

Personally, I think a lack of proper education is one of the main causes of this.

But I could be wrong. After all, it could be that I am the improperly educated one.

Question is, is it the voters or the candidates who are improperly educated, and whose fault is that? And, more importantly, how do we fix it?

Pressing concern, when the schools themselves are controlled by forces that have benefited from this sorry state of affairs.

I sat out the 2000 elections(the first I was able to vote in, for age reasons), because I was overseas and did not bother filling out an absentee ballot. However, I likely would have voted for GWB just on the basis I did not care for Al Gore being my Commander in Chief. I don't really remember much about that election cycle as my interest in politics wasn't yet formed. In 2004, I abstained from voting. I did not care for Bush that much, and Kerry was unacceptable for me to vote for. I was a little more politically aware, but not anymore than anybody who casually tunes into debates. By 2006 I had engrossed myself into politics, and I find that my increased knowledge of our political system and the people within it, has led to a decrease in my desire to even cast a vote for anyone. Nobody has been inspiring to me. Nobody has come forth with a clear and concise message, filled with detailed knowledge, backed by relative experience, and delivered with strong concise leadership. Its as if I have eaten the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. I cannot ever view our political system in a kind light, because I now see it for what it is. Ignorance, really is bliss.

Personal opinion? Both.

How to fix it?

I really don't have a good idea. Some vague ideas, perhaps, but I don't know enough about the subject to know if they are good ones or not.

But it would likely involve some kind of massive overhaul of the way the entire system works. I'm a fan of comprehensive overhauls.

Pressing concern, when the schools themselves are controlled by forces that have benefited from this sorry state of affairs.

One of the key problems with the current system, as I see it.

How will you vote in the 2010 midterm elections?

I usually support the Democrats in the House, and Republicans for the Senate. I don't see anything so far to change how I would vote.

Search really hard for a candidate you can support, and work your heart out to help get him/her elected, even if he/she isn't running in the district or state you live in. If none can be found, get your signup pad, start collecting signatures, and stand for election yourself. No excuse to sit it out, find someone to support, or jump in :2wave:

Moderate Dems all the way. I can't vote for the evil empire.

It has gotten to the point I just want someone in office that is completely honest thru and thru. At this point I almost dont care about their views. Im just so sick of dishonesty and shady deals from both sides.

I agree, i hate idiots who do not vote and then whine that Labour won or something is wrong in the council. Vote or STFU and let those who voted have a turn at bitching.

Well I have a different outlook on voting. I dont vote very often. I consider voting the same as a personal stamp on the candidate. I will not vote for anyone that I dont support 100%. I just dont agree with voting for the "lesser of evils". Plus when I dont have a single candidate I would vote for I can bitch about all of em since none were worthy of my vote. ;)

Well they all lie, the question is which one lie's the less.

Even though this is a unscientific poll, I find the results very telling.

Especially:

At the time of this post, only 4 persons polled chose a fiscal liberal, and all three chose a fiscal liberal Democrat.

Considering that "fiscal conservative" does not really exist in politics, this, in my mind, explains why people dislike government so much lately.

This poll is multiple choice.

I will vote for a strong fiscal conservative or whoever is not an incumbent or Democrat. The Democrats go wild every time they get control of Congress and the White House. Obama learned some good lessons from Clinton's first two years.
1) Don't allow legislation to stay in conference long enough for the citizens to read or politicians to spin hence the "Rush Rush, It is critical" fear-mongering.

2) Tell people they are investing and stress costs containment over and over and over again.

When has government ever lowered costs on anything. Spiralling healthcare costs are what we have reaped from "The Great Society" and federal reserve devaluing the dollar through debt issue monetary policy.

Can't really say right now as the candidates aren't finalized yet, the quickest answer is I'll vote for the best candidate available, no matter the affiliation.
