I would give her a C. I think she is doing ok, but she has been dodgy with some of the questions. She did completely take back her "wise latina" statement, and said that she could have said the statement differently. I appreciated that.

I think the grade should be an "F" for spineless republicans who let her get away with the chicken **** "That's an abstract question" and some bull**** little distraction speech.

C as in Charade.

The hearings in summation:

One woman pretends to be someone she isn't in front of a handful of politicians who have already made up their minds about the woman but who pretend to be impartial (except Jeff Sessions). Democrats use 'questions' to take rhetorical swipes at Republicans, Republicans use 'questions' to take rhetorical swipes at Democrats.

It was theater, more comedy than drama.

Her performance was as lackluster as the Republicans.

All in all I could not support her nomination.

I agree with most of that. She did seem to be a completely different person. And why the media covered these hearings so much I don't know. There is so much other stuff going on, and Sotomayor is sure to be confirmed.

I would give her a "D" for effort, She would not clearly state how she stood on many issues.

"C" for chicken****.

She's way too conservative and pro-government for my tastes but what more can you expect from an ex-prosecutor and ex-judge.

However, compared to the right-wing activists that Bush appointed she deserves a B.

C for contradictions.
