Does this infringe on the right to have an abortion

I'll accept this as your admission that the picture you painted never went to print, therefore nullifying the argument you were trying to make.

Are hypotheticals not allowed here? Sometimes they bring great issues to light that aren't otherwise on the table. The founding fathers sure thought of all sorts of things that might happen, and formed the laws and the constitution to keep those things from occurring.

Ok, flopsy. Whatever you say, flopsy.
Say hi to Cottontail fot us!

Oh nooess!! What a stinging rebuttal!! How shall i ever sleep tonight!?!? Shall i now call you some imaginary character names? Oh gee, what shall i choose? Hmm.. Let me get back to you.

LOL!!!! You raised the gun issue, and praised a particular law in times past, and now you can't answer one itty-bitty question that'll expose your hypocrisy and you have to go hide behind the ole' "it's-not-the-topic-of-this-thread" boulder. That's rich!!

If you don't know how a citizen's voice plays a roll at the voting booth, that's not my problem.

All you did was expose your own ignorance of basic civics. Nothing more.

I have the right to vote for the U.S. Presidential Election, but damn, I have to wait for that too.

Not hardly. That you want to disingenuously misconstrue it that way to make yourself feel better is your problem, not mine. You've certainly demonstrated that you can't answer one itty bitty question out of fear of having your hypocrisy exposed for the whole thread. It's no big deal to me, but it obviously is to you, or you'd have answered the question and handed me my hat. Enjoy this revelation about yourself that i've so aptly revealed.

What is the justification for the 24 hour waiting period? Its not a huge burden, but it has no purpose. Medical procedures should not be pointlessly delayed.

Even it comes to the taking of a life ?
Or has the meaning of "life" been changed to suit the abortion rights crowd.

Many definitions have been changed to suit the abortion crowd. This isn't the first.

They are both rights exercised by the individual... so, yes.
If the 24-hr wait can be applied to one, it can be applied to the other.

Props to you, Goobie for being consistent. Even though I know you are anti-abortion, you successfully cleared my Hypocrisy Check question. Few ever do that.

Moderator's Warning:
Folks, cease the personal attacks now, or I will not wait 24 hours to remove someone from this thread.

With Brewer's signature, Arizona becomes the 22nd state to impose a mandatory, 24-hour waiting period for women seeking an abortion, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. It is the 34th to require informed consent in which physicians performing an abortion must inform their patient about risks and alternatives.

Yes, let's delay treatment for something known to cause death.

Huh.

Good Job Ms. Brewer.

Actually, you do not.
First:
You have the privilege grated to you by your state.
If the state decided to rescind that privilege, you'd have zero recourse, except to vote our your legislature and vote in one that will return the privilege.
Second:
You arent really voting for President, but for the determination of your state's electors. You dont vote for President any more than you vote for any bill in Congress.

Oh!! I'll sleep well tonight!!!

Aren't they usually scheduled anyway? I never had one but I've always assumed there must be like a process. First you get seen at the clinic, then you get scheduled for a procedure. Hell I can't even get a mole removed without going through two appts the initial b.s. "yes you have a mole," validation and then the appt where they actually cut the crap out. If women are able to obtain elective abortions in a single appt. then why the hell can't I get that type of service for other junk?

Emergency surgeries are quite different from elective procedures. Ectopic pregnancies often come through the ER and are routinely handled like emergencies. I seriously doubt any elective abortion laws would impact the way ERs respond to ectopic pregnancies presenting at a dangerous stage.
