No one had a better voice than Michael when he was just a kid.
Sad that his Mom gave him hormone shots to try and keep his voice the same.
That i believe screwed him up.
Just look at him then and now.
Did you ever listen to his song 'Ben'?
Mommy I am only 10 years old and I was surprised to kick the ass of that Pussy. Son that Pussy didn't listen to S.S.1
There are some people, like myself, who legitimately like both; however, most folks are one or the other.
It's hard to say who the bigger star was.
I believe it's a tie.
MJ probably has more fans who are still alive.
Elvis wasn't just a pop singer he was the icon of post-war integration and social change. Elvis was the first crack in the wall of social conformity and tradition. He brought sex, danger and black culture into the sterile post-war suburbs.
Elvis gave Mick Jagger his saunter, Iggy Pop his swagger, Sid Vicious his sneer and Kurt Cobain his intensity. He gave rock its sex, style, rebellion and attitude. First wave Rockabilly was the era of rock, everything else has essentially been a rehash.
Michael Jackson made tame pop music.
And why does your tone suggest that you do not care about children?

MJ has more musical ability and talent in his dried-up dead toenail than Elvis had in his whole body. Elvis was a product of marketing and a beneficary of convenient timing. I don't think he knew more than 3 or 4 chords on a guitar and any vocalist in the top 40 on American Idol, year after year, can shame Elvis vocally. Elvis' "dance" moves were simply embarassing.
Elvis was Elvis. 'Nuff said?
PS... to answer the thread topic. Nationally, I gotta give it to Elvis. In 30 years, that might change.
Internationally, it's MJ hand's down.
