Re: Is Obama doing a good job?

Personal opinion: No.

But I'm watching, and who knows, he might change my opinion in the future.

As to how you define "good". In this case, I define "good" as: How close to my personal prefrence Pres. Obama's actions are

I don't see Obama's econ policy as leveling off the economy, I see those decisions making things worse, if the economy levels off it would be because it hit it's natural equilibrium point, no matter who is in office or what they do that point exists. As for foreign policy, I don't personally care how the world views what we do as long as it is in our best interests and legitimate, although I would like to keep our allies happy, it shouldn't be the key point in dealing with the United States' affairs.

Re: Is Obama doing a good job?

Overall I am happy so far. He's playing way to middle of the road for me...but I basically expected that, although I secretly hoped he would move to the left.

Foreign policy, I have to agree with most of all. He's done a good job so far repairing the damage that GWB did to this country with his gun-slinging cowboy mentality. I feel much safer with Obama at the head than I ever did with Bush.

Economy - I think he's on the right road...we'll see in a few months how the economy reacts.

Healthcare - I wish he would be a little stronger. Congress is being the typical spineless wimps that they generally are. Obama needs to pressure them to pass meaningful healthcare reform, not some half-assed compromise.

Re: Is Obama doing a good job?

I voted undecided because it's still too early to tell, but I did believe from the start that the two party system in the U.S. does not guarantee much difference in leadership, regardless of who you vote for. Given that, I'm not at all convinced that the Republicans would have done a better job. When the economy is tanking, whoever is in charge will naturally take a lot of heat.

Most of the beef I have with Obama is surrounding the excess of the stimulus plans, but only a fraction of the planned stimulus money has been spent so far. If the economy shows signs of recovery but the excess spending continues, then my views may change.

I do enjoy how his social policy is very direct with little deliberation. His views don't create a media storm to polarize the people. The issues are just brought up, and then dealt with immediately. Then he moves on to other things.

Re: Is Obama doing a good job?

He is doing a good job of moving this country towards a European style of socialist government. So my answer is no. I do admit he handled the pirate incident well. And I agree with him that marriage should be between a man and a woman as it has always been.

Because we are the biggest and powerful nation in the world. Even the rich and powerful douchebag in high school has friends, and it's not because he's a douche.

Are we at war with Saudi Arabia or are we allies? The majority of the 9/11 terrorists were Saudi's.
