Yeah, I wouldn't call that a valid business trip to deal with the US Commerce Department.
The trip he is paying back is a trip from LAST YEAR.

Do some research into what those headlines you are pulling up are actually talking about.

THIS trip, he payed for with his own money.

Tell me, Caine. What would happen if this week you just suddenly didn't show up for duty. Didn't call in, didn't let anyone know your whereabouts, didn't cover your assigned shifts?

I would be reported as missing.

When I returned they'd just take vacation days from me for the time I was gone.

C'mon, man. You know you'd be written up, pulled off the street, and possibly, be fired.

That is definitely a fireable offense where I work.

Yes and I base this only on the fact he left without warning. That's just irresponsible. Now if he atleast said 'hey I'm going away and this is where you can reach me in an emergency" it would have been all good.
Is what you're living for today, worth dying for tomorrow?

Yes, he should resign. He acted irresponsibly, with disregard for his state and the post he occupies. He is still rambling on about it, this shows he clearly has no brains.

I don't think that he should resign, personally, because it was a private matter. I do find it funny, however, that he claimed Clinton should resign for marital infidelity.
The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet the Makeout Hobo, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).
