I do. I feel in love with my partner of 37 years now at first sight. I knew if she was lesbian she was the one. I have no idea why. I really don't care why. I just fell in love.

I've done the love at first sight thing, but it never really worked all that well for me. Love over time seems to work better. My natural radar is set to "unemployed drug-addled abusive loser who will cheat on me."

So, when I feel those strong feelings of attraction, I run like hell. :rofl

I am sorry to hear that. It is best to stay away from the natural radar then. I am sorry you have had those types of relationships. Hugs.

You're a doll. I'm so glad that you and Alice found each other!

I'm perfectly happy with my slow moving man, though. We suit each other.

I can say I believe in love at 1st sight, but definately NOT with guys. Like Catz said, "I run like hell".

Not until I saw Courtney Friel.

Lord have mercy!

I have never even been in a situation like that. I frankly would not know how to respond to a male. If any of them ever made any sort of advance I ignored it totally. I have never been that horribly desirable to men I don't think. The fact that I was crippled pretty badly most of my adult life cause men to shy away. I also have been with Alice since I was a teenager. We settled in when I was 20. I must say when it comes to males and relationship I have no clue.

I'm kind of cynical when it comes to love at first sight, and I blame Shakespeare.

His definition of love at first sight, in Romeo and Juliet, was lust. And for the most part, he's right. When you're attracted to someone, very strongly as in R&J, it's usually about sex and/or infatuation. It's usually about the intensive emotional feeling when you first meet someone you like. Metaphorically in R&J, "love at first sight" doesn't end well, and causes a lot of grief.

For those that have stayed with their partners for years and years, and claim to have fallen in love at first sight, well... I think it's more of an expression of how much you love someone right now. I don't think anyone really knows if or how much they love someone based on appearances, otherwise that's pretty shallow, and therefore lust/infatuation. I mean, anyone who has been with a partner for years and years, can certainly say/justify love at first sight and say they're and example of it. But I think the years spent together has more to do with that, than the first sight.

But that's just me ;)

No, definitely not.

You can say at the first sight if someone is attractive to you (many women told me they cannot even be sure of that at the first sight), but you cannot find out if you have enough in common to spend you life with each other or even a few years.

Even if we keep to discuss about physical attraction only there are some aspects you cannot be sure of at first sight (voice e.g.).

In all fairness, the first time I met my current boyfriend, it was a blind date essentially (we met online). And when I saw him walking across the parking lot in the sunshine, I was blown away by how tall, handsome, and amazing he looked. It was like there was a light around him.

But, I was dating several people (not seriously), and it took a good two months for us to become exclusive, on both our parts.

Love at first sight is usually cured by a careful second look.

It seems like most people have doubts about love at first sight.

Yes. I can repeat them a few later so we get a second look. I'll be back after the cold shower.

Define love and how you know you are there.

Hell love for me was jesus i want this girl today tomorrow and everyday. I am googoo eyed for her. I want to know everything this girl ever did. If she is queer she will be with me forever. That is what I thought when I saw Alice.
