The recent Iranian elections are:

1. Rigged or fixed
2. Legitimate and real
3. Other

What do you think?

EDIT: Mods please add a poll! Thank you!

Probably rigged.

I vote "other": Rigged and quite broken. Imonajihad needs to send some folk to Chicago so he can learn how to steal an election honestly.

They are definitely rigged. NPR reported that Ahmadinejad one the vote two-to-one over Mir Hossein Mousavi, when earlier polls showed the race much tighter, and some with Mousavi in the lead. Thus, for Ahmadinejad to win by such a margin is nothing but corruption revealed.

OK, I admit it, I laughed.

For the most part, it doesn't matter. The Ayatollah whatever still has a controlling interest over the country. The President is more of a doplomat, who takes political fire, and gets booed. For the Record, Rigged, and Other ( stupid).

Rigged beyond any doubt.

The Ayetolietbowl, the Mullahs, and Amademonjihad, colluded to rig the election.

Rigged and the leaders are too arrogant for their own good. This time, it's going to cost them.

Hopefully, with another bloody, violent revolution. Hopefully, the blood will be Amadinejad, and the Ayatollah.

I hope that they are rigged. I hope the Iranians didn't chose a warmonger. If they honestly did though, so be it. I do believe however that only Iran's government is violent, and not it's people.

I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED OVER THERE!!!

What happened over there was legitimate, but Amadinejad switched the votes. He took Mousavi's votes, and Mousavi took his votes. That's why Mousavi "lost" his home town.

I picked, “Other.” I honestly do not care about the Iranian system of government. America should focus on our rigged or fixed elections.

Other: Irrelevant.

How in the hell are you going to really say its "Irrelevant"?

The Iranian election are very relevant to current foreign policy and national security right now! The Iranioans are pretty much choosing wether they get invaded (because we know in the election of 2012 thats going to be the main debate,) or they become a semi-peaceful semi-invaded nation.

And I think that plays a great importance in the lives of Americans.

Because both candidates are pre-screened and vetted by the Guardian Council, half of which is selected directly by the Supreme Leader the other half of which are selected by the Majiles (who themselves are vetted by the Guardian council) out of a list of jurists who are selected by the head of the Judiciary who is selected directly by the Supreme Leader. The Supreme Leader himself is selected by the Assembly of Experts who are elected by public vote amongst a pre-screened list vetted by the Guardian Council.

Real reformists who will even criticize let alone call for end to the closed circle of theocratic power are not even allowed to run; such as Marze Por Gohar. Who ever is elected President is still just a puppet of the Mullahs and holds no real authority.

The so called "reformist" candidate Mousavi is partially responsible for the slaughter of more than 30,000 political dissidents under his Prime Ministry in the late 80s and he was part of a board which granted the Supreme Leader exponentially more authority and power.

a sham and a shame....
if they had guns, the revolution would be over by now...and a new dictator can then take his turn...

Please, enlighten me.

Please, enlighten me.

Q: You don’t believe some Iranians could vote for the more moderate candidate at least to avoid a worst-case scenario?

Kaveh Mohseni - No, I don’t. Because Mousavi is not a moderate. When he was Prime Minister, 30,000 political prisoners were executed in only three months in the summer of 1988 and buried in a mass grave on the site of Khavaran. Many Iranians may be young but they have parents. No one can believe Mousavi is a moderate. They all have blood on their hands.

Furthermore he ruined the Iranian economy when he was in power by nationalizing many companies.

We should stay out of it.

..or Florida for that matter.

Rigged, most likely. Regardless, it says a lot about social woes over there.

It was under his Prime Ministry he was part of the regime responsible for this democide and thus shares culpability.

We've had presidents that were part of a group of political leaders under which people were enslaved and tortured.

Too much?

In the last century? I don't think so. The theocratic world still endorses slavery. (see Sudan).
