George Tiller Killed: Abortion Doctor Shot At Church

Suspect in George Tiller shooting in custody in Johnson County - Kansas City Star

A suspect in the fatal shooting today of Wichita abortion provider George Tiller was arrested in Johnson County and will be returned to Wichita to face charges.

The 51-year-old male suspect was arrested about three hours after the shooting without incident near Gardner on Interstate 35.

This is particularly heart wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace.

Abortion foes fear backlash to Tiller's murder - Yahoo! News

NEW YORK Anti-abortion leaders voiced concern Sunday that the Obama administration and other Democrats may try to capitalize on the murder of Dr. George Tiller to defuse the abortion issue in upcoming Supreme Court confirmation hearings.

Many anti-abortion groups condemned the killing of Tiller, a prominent abortion provider who was shot dead at his church in Wichita, Kan. But they expressed concern that abortion-rights activists would use the occasion to brand the entire anti-abortion movement as extremist.

They also worried that there would now be an effort to stifle anti-abortion viewpoints during questioning of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Her exact views on abortion aren't known, but conservatives fear she supports abortion rights.

According to the National Abortion Federation, Tiller was the eighth U.S. abortion provider murdered since 1977, and 17 others had been targeted with attempted murder.

I'm Pro-Choice, and I'm only upset because he was killed in church instead of his office or at home. It's grossly disrespectful of God and of the community, and by Federal law Dr. Tiller was incapable of carrying a weapon and defending himself.

It was the crassest form of bushwhacking, committed on holy ground.

This is a sure sign of the decline of moral values in society.

The ATF should go to the houses of all suspected pro lifers and seize thier weapons, enslave thier children, kick thier dogs, close the Churches they go to, and steal thier bibles.

Put all of the terrorist pro lifers on the terror watch/no fly lists.

I don't see what else it would be. Even if there were some conspiracy involving arresting far-right radicals, what possible reason could there be for arresting them on the same date?

Can I call for guns to be made illegal, but just for pro lifers?

One could argue the fact that Dr. Tiller, 1 of 3 drs. in the entire country willing to go to the lengths that he did, serving as an usher in a church is a sign of moral decline in itself.

With Dr. Tiller late term could mean seconds before your actual due date. He had no "limits" which is why his arse was hauled into court so often.
