    Re: Is This Police Brutality?

The police should be held to a higher standard than the general population for they have the power to detain and release. This officer shows that he doesn't have it to have the badge and he should show as an example what happens when this level of misconduct occurs. He should be fired and spend at least a year in lockup. Asulting a fugitive when surrendering is just stupid and will eventually make it much harder for the police when they try to capture suspects or other fugitives.

    Actually, somebody did.

A spokesman for the El Monte Police called it a "Distracting Blow" and stated that because the suspect hadn't been searched the officer was justified.

    I disagree.

There is never a reason to distract a subdued suspect.

    Re: Is This Police Brutality?

I'm pleasantly surprised that we haven't seen the usual group out calling everyone who speaks out about police brutality "Criminal Lovers".

I have no sympathy for the suspect whatsoever. If he is tried and convicted he SHOULD spend a long time in state prison.

However, the arrogance of this police officer is outdone by his stupidity that he thought was could get away with this. He had to know that there were helicopters covering this. His actions showed what many of us that live her in LA know, there are many on the LAPD and other police agencies that simply cannot control their behavior. Imagine how often this occurs when it is NOT caught on tape.

There are many good officers on the streets. Unfortunately, until the LAPD and in this case El Monte Police weed out these bad cops, they will continue to be a blight on the good hardworking officers out there.

Even the second cop is guilty, IMO for bashing him in the back repeatedly.
They idiot criminal was just covering up a bit after getting kicked in the head.

First cop should be fired and fined...
And tasered repeatedly, along with that lowlife thug cop who beat up that 15 year old girl

Do we know that they wrote on his face? It could be a tatoo. He has some on his neck.

The cop knew the helicopter above him was filming, no? I wonder if he wanted to be a tough guy on tv.
