    The suspect was prone on the ground in a surrender position, there's laws against unprovoked attacks on people, and the damn cop is, guess what, an officer sworn to uphold the law. He's not allowed to dispense his own justice.

    He's a criminal, he should be prosecuted, he should be convicted, and he should be put in jail with absolutely no special considerations about what his job was before he committed that crime.
