Which one are you? :)

People use mac's still?

I have very recently moved to a Mac. I changed sides after a very bad experience with a brand new Vista laptop. Initially Vista was a lot better after SP1, but then after a series of problems I was consistently getting the blue circle of death. Weirdly though, my notebook would book up in safe mode.

But considering that I am a student, (I can not afford) I could no longer deal with this kind of unreliability. So I bought a Mac.

So far I've enjoyed the reliability of the Mac, but I do miss Windows. Especially since I can't play the same range of games on a mac. To me a Mac is like a really reliable Enoch.......

Will I ever go back to PC? Absolutely, I love gaming to much. But after the issues with Vista/PC, I would only return to PC, when Microsoft produces an operating system that offers customers true reliability and innovation.

In the mean time I will enjoy my very reliable digital Enoch.

I'm a PC user who also has Ubuntu installed on another partition, just to play around w/ Compiz. I prefer PC's because I'm a gamer, and I build my own. What would cost over 2 grand I can put together for under $800 and can easily upgrade.

I don't prefer Windows over OSX, although this Windows 7 RC is pretty impressive. I generally run a barebones versions of XP called MicroXP (under 100mb.) IMO OSX is much more elegant than windows, but I prefer the customizability of Linux.

Also I'm an accountant and there isn't any decent accounting software for Macs.

MAC Guy is Awsome !

Every time I see one of those commercials, I pray for PC guy to haul off and beat the crap out of Mac guy....

PC's no doubt rule. I mean Macs don't even compare to the customization that a pc has.

As far as Windows goes, I'd rather have a version of Linux.

Mac's = overpriced novelty

It's the Mac users that created this debate anyway with their superior attitude. Just look at the commercials. Whether or not Mac or PC are useful depends on what you want to use them for. Media applications are better on Mac (such as photo and video editing), PC is much better for games and high powered applications. I found Macs too expensive in the long run... repairing them and upgrading is usually difficult and you need to buy a whole new computer. PC is more versatile in this department.

I like Linux but it's not as user friendly for someone like me who is not techno savvy on the rar installation side. It also doesn't have some of the software I need for the hardware on my laptop, and I won't trade operating systems only to have some components on my laptop not work. I hate windows though, passionately. I bought a laptop last August and it has Windows Vista, the biggest piece of crap Microsoft has ever exuded from its corporate bowels.

It always cracks me up seeing some linux or mac geek talk about how they have fewer viruses. Of course Linux and mac has fewer viruses, most people on the planet use windows. Why would any pathetic nerd living in his parent's basement going to **** with linux or mac when almost everyone and their mom use windows? It would be like learning to break into the only poor house on the block when there are a bunch of rich people's homes to break into.

I'm Mac I'm a photographer.

:rofl :rofl

You always have such a colorful way of explaining things.

I really like my Mac. My only complaint about it is that the quilting graphics software that I'd like to use to help me design quilts is not Mac compatible.

I work with a Windows system at the office but I like my Mac at home much better.

I use a PC (and let's be honest, this is about operating systems, not about computers so the question is misleading) and hate Macs with a passion. I've used both, Macs just don't do what I need to do, period, and the egotistic attitude of both the company and the users is idiotic. If your damn computers are so great, why do you have such a crappy market share?

That's not to say I love Windows either, it's got massive problems too, but it's got the most software that I need running under it. I'd much rather be running Linux but, like Mac, it doesn't support a lot of the software I have to run.

See I'm on the opposite end being a photographer/artist. Graphics just seem to work better and I can print out at 32 bit.

We've got both at work and I have both at home.

At work, our photography and graphic design dept are Mac only whereas the journalism people and the 3D animation people only use PC, our network is on Linux servers but most people's desk machines are PCs.

The games software design people have to use both OS's - but we are slowly shifting to Mac only as you can run Windoze on a Mac as well as OSX.

Macs suck. They are overpriced and don't run a lot of stuff I need to run and are harder to interface with equipment than PCs are. Theorists use Macs, experimentalists use PCs.

Maybe its like a height inferiority complex. The little midget who gets in fights and acts tough because he is a little pipsqueak and deep down inside wishes he was a tall person. Or maybe they are like the guy with a little dick who buys a sports car or Hummer. The huge vast majority of people use windows while a tiny almost insignificant part of the population uses mac, linux or some other lesser known OS and to get the stuff that works for windows you need some sort windows emulator.

I'm a PC because of several reasons.

1. I am used to them
2. The customization is much better
3. I am a gamer
4. PCs are immensely cheaper.

I have grown up with PCs, I am used to them. When I use Apple Macs they seem like too much effort to get to something easier. I don't know, maybe that's just my bias.

The customization on a PC rocks, no question.

Comp-gamers have a huge disadvantage when it comes to Apple, since gaming franchises perform swimmingly on the PC and are sometimes ungettable on a Mac.

These days it seems like you have to have a certain type of person to have a Mac, like an artist or graphic designer. PCs can do that too, but they are flexible enough to be "fun" computers as well as very professional tools.

From a pure user perspective, each operating system has various advantages and drawbacks. Windows supports the most software and is the only platform for most games. Macs are built with excellent user interfaces and media development platforms. Linux has the most stable platform and the most options for a knowledgeable user.

Its mostly about what is best for a particular user, not some stupid pissing contest about what is "better". Windows may have the inferior technical platform, but its commanding market share make it useful. Apple may be overpriced but it gives it users the experience they want. Linux lacks crucial software and driver support, but has the lowest cost and most solid backend.

Mac may be awesome but they piss me off. i just can't get used to them.

Trust me , its just a matter of time to get used to it

I have nothing against Macs (now some of their fans is a different story) but I'm a PC user primarily when it comes to destops and laptops.

When it comes to Smartphones, I was a MS person for 10 years who was close to being lured away by Apple until Palm dropped a bombshell back at the beginning of the year.
