    Is it racist?

According to you, is it condemnable to want to get ethnic purity in a country? Or is it acceptable? Why/Why not?

    Re: Is it racist?

Ethnic "purity" is a fiction, an ultimately self-destructive delusion that serves no useful purpose.

Anyone pursuing it deserves the miserable death that is likely to be their end.

Condemnable. In order to achieve ethnic purity, your obviously going to have to be racist somwhere down the line, arent you?

    Re: Is it racist?

Depends on what you mean by "ethnic" and really what you mean by "purity."

I've said it before that "race" is a superstition. The idea that Irish and Albanians have anything in common by virtue of sharing a "race" that Irish and Koreans or Albanians and Kenyans do not is ludicrous.

But ethnicities and nationalities are something real, and they are more than just words on official pieces of paper.

I think the desire to have only those people within your country-- within your nation's official territory-- that speak your language, share your culture, and identify themselves first and foremost as members of your nation is not only normal, but praiseworthy. I think wanting to abolish segregated and distinct minority groups within your nation, and to bring your people together and make them whole, is noble.

But I think discrimination against people who are members of your nation and your culture on the grounds of superficial physical differences is foolish and wrong.

Depends on what you mean by 'getting' ethnic purity. Are we talking about putting Jews in gas chambers and hitting the on switch? No. Are we talking about starting your own country full of black people with no white people allowed? No. Are we talking about lynching black women so they won't give birth to black babies? No. It really boils down to what you mean by 'getting' ethnic purity.

So you are asking is it racist for someone to want to have one and only one ethnicity in their country, or to separate out all other ethnicities except a specific one, having a hierarchy of sorts. An I correct?

Yes exactly: do you think it is condemnable to want that? On what grounds? Human rights?!
