Based on the definition that I gave and you agreed with, I would say that this form or racism is condemnable. As far as the ground for this, for me it would be moral. The level of oppression would lead me to determine whether it was a human rights violation or not.

Can you link to the article about the Belgian situation? I hadn't heard about it.

In fact it is not new, but I wanted to see the reaction of people who didn't know the situation

It was in 2004, 3 associations related to the Vlaams Blok (Flemish nationalist party) were condemned and banned for racism:

On November 9, 2004, the Belgian Supreme Court upheld a decision of the Appeal court of Ghent ruling that three organizations associated with the Vlaams Blok were in contempt with the 1981 Belgian law on racism and xenophobia, or more precisely that the party pursued permanent incitement to discrimination and racial segregation. The Supreme Court held that the prohibition to pursue discrimination and segregation in an obvious and sustained manner is also applicable to political parties (press release in Dutch [8] and in French [9], see decision in Dutch below).

    [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlaams_Blok]Vlaams Blok - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

    The trial is there:

    http://www.juridat.be/jurispdf/R/C/04/B/RC04B91.pdf

The Vlaams Blok also had a "70-steps program" to create an ethnicaly homogeneous state

Blokwatch - Nationale webstek over het Vlaams Belang - Het 70-puntenplan (versie 1992)

The main points of this "solution to immigration" were
    - to inform our people
    - to protect the unity (eigenheid?) of our people: avoid integration of foreigners, no vote right for foreigners, separate education for non-European foreigners...
    - application of the "our people first" policy
    - application of strong nationalist laws: avoid naturalisation of foreigners
    - prevent massive immigration from abroad
    - expulsion of foreigners in three phases: illegals and criminals ; 1st and 2nd generation ; 3rd generation

Wow. I had no idea. This certainly sounds racist and abhorrent to me. And there are some human rights violations mixed in here, similar to some of the separate bute equal laws in the US from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century...but go even further like eliminating voting rights, and expulsion.

I tried to find a link to the "70 steps, but they're all in Dutch. Know of an English version?

Worked great. Pretty racist stuff, sounding eerily familiar to some of the white nationalist crap we hear in the US. Quite a bit of anti-Muslim stuff, too.

Fortunately they were sued and banned.
Another political party was created with the same people and the same ideas, the "Vlaams Belang"
They're not openly racist anymore but there is a "cordon sanitaire" around them: no other political party is going to make a coalition with them, so they'll never be part of the government of Flanders or the federal government.

A funny thing...they want to deport foreigners...what are they gonna do with the royal family? Our 2 queens are Italian and Spanish!

    Re: Is it racist?

    I'll tell you what's racist.

When is it okay to have a party in Government that only promotes Maori interests? It's name is the Maori Party, all their policies are directed to maori enpowerment, and to steal land off the Pakehas (Non-Maori). They want Maori to have top-priority when it comes to getting jobs, because "Maori are really disenfranchised", they want Maori to own all the beaches in New Zealand, and be in all corners of Government.

They will squabble to whomever has the majority in Parliament. Last year they were in a left-wing coalition in Government, this year, because Labour lost, they quickly re-invented themselves as a right-wing political party, so to unite with the National Party, who are in government at the moment.

But you know when a white man creates a white party, he and his party are labelled as racist, the kkk, bigots, etc. But it's okay to have a Maori Party, that's only interested in what they call "Maori enpowerment".

It's like the feminist movement all over again.

an ethnically pure race is one disease away from extinction....
Remember the potato famine in Ireland? they were growing ONE kind of potato and the disease that hit that ONE kind almost destroyed Ireland.
    Works for humans as well.....
