Cool Who would you rather vote for in 2012?

This one's very straightforward. Would you rather vote for Obama, or a Republican who promises to balance the budget within two years or resign? (Of course, such a promise would have to be conditioned on having GOP majorities in both the House and the Senate, or a balanced budget would never be passed.)

We are all products of our environment. Barack Obama comes from the same environment that produced Rod Blagojevich, Tony Rezko and Richard J. Daley. Expecting Obama to clean up corruption in Washington is like picking a person who lived his entire adult life in a whorehouse, and claiming that he's a virgin.

I'd vote Obama because I know the other guy is either delusional or flat out lying.

Always remember, Winston: unless you're a Democrat, it's always possible to balance the budget. Just cut spending to match revenue.

If I do vote for a republican he will have to have to share most of my views and have a history to prove that he means what he says. Most likely however the republicans will still try to sell out and will try to prop up another liberal. In which case I will not vote for president unless my state doesn't try to screw anymore 3rd party candidates. Politicians all the time say one thing and do another and only the stupid, ignorant and those who do not make the effort to find out about a candidate vote for these phonies who claim one thing and do another.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Assuming I believed for one second that the Republican was serious and he was generally in line with my other views, I'd vote for him, although I really don't believe for one second that *ANY* Republican these days would try to do it. Most Republicans are just as fiscally irresponsible, if not more so, as the Democrats.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

Right now I'm still in the Obama mood, so I would vote for him.

But its too early to tell COMPLETELY. Plus, Obama will make promises and the Rep will make promises. What's the difference? Politicians never follow through with all of them.

I won't commit to any candidate based on one issue. I didn't vote for Obama. I probably won't vote for him again. I have no idea who I'll be voting for in 2012. But certainly any single issue won't make the difference.

I didn't vote for McCain last election. I wrote in the name of my favorite. I've decided I'll never again hold my nose and vote for someone I don't support wholeheartedly. I've only done that once in my lifetime... in 1996.

It would have to go beyond a balancing of the budget thing, which would be great. But it would have to include huge reduction in size and scope of the federal government.

Re: Who would you rather vote for in 2012?

Do y'all really think the US President could, even if he wanted to, balance the budget? It is the Congress that sets spending and the only thing the President can to is make recommendations and, if he does not like what they pass and has the gonads, veto it.

So, unless you think the new President is going to be elected along with a whole bunch of like minded Congress folks, it ain't gonna happen.

    Bogus poll.

No sensible person would ever vote for Obama, and neither Santa Bunny nor Easter Claus exist.
