When does this become Obama's economy?

IIRC it was Bush's economy about right after he got elected so the question that I'm going to ask is when does this economy become that of the current administrations rather than GWBs?

It became Obama's economy on January 20th of this year. I'm not saying the recession is then fitted around Obama's neck, but once he became President he acquired the responsibility to make the economy better.

Answering this any other way is simply a way of either being soft on Obama or putting more blame on Bush.

    Yeah I said it

    Never; this is everyone's economy.

    Never !
During previous administrations many mistakes (deregulation) occurred..
Both liberal and conservative went along with this....they thought it was a good idea at the time.
    Greed was forgotten about.
Its childish to participate in a blame game.

Um, I believe you did just that in the very same post.

The "stimulus" bill was the game-changer. Work or fail, it's on him now.

Two years ago, when Obama was sworn in as jooonyor senator from the Great Democrat Machine of Illinois and immediately began supporting every an all Democrat program and initiative.

If he didn't like what he saw, he had two years to oppose it.

His capacity to credibly blame Bush ended with the stimulus bill. The economy is all on him, every lost job of it.

Re: When does this become Obama's economy?

I don't believe in blaming a bad economy on Presidents or giving them credit for a good economy. That's not to say that Presidents can't influence our economy, and that they shouldn't get some blame or credit when their economic agendas have an effect on said economy, but I feel the public's tendancy to give 100% blame or credit to the President is misguided. I feel that way regardless of whom occupies the office of President.

Having said that, in order to answer the question, I believe the public tends to give credit or blame to the President whenever there has been noticeable change, or when there has been no noticeable change for an extended period of time (years rather than months). In this particular situation, that would mean, if I'm correct, that this will become "Obama's Economy" in the public's eyes at such time that there is a significant change for the better or worse, or if we go for a couple of years without any noticeable change.
