It's pretty ironic how many Americans blame the virus on Mexicans and imply that they are deliberately transmitting it to us, yet at the same time no one outside of Mexico has died except a Mexican baby.

I know, I was just trying to poke fun.

I have a picture thats pretty funny to go along with it but I can't seem to get it to load.

I saw someone else's post saying that parents are flooding ER's in some places.
Such irrational fearful sheep.

Are folks in the states wearing masks and crap?

Nobody on my island... :2razz:

There are some border state people here, they ought to be able to tell ya.
What is the tone like on the mainland, guys? Especially near places with infectees?

I am not worried about swine flu nor do I care. As far as I know more people have died from the regular flu in this country than they have of swine flu. We have 300 million plus people in this country 1 or 2 swine flu deaths or even a thousand is not a epidemic. I think the scum in the media and politicians are trying to distract us.

Well, in case anyone's interested, I just traveled the scary airports to NYC, rode the perilous subways, patronized the filth-ridden taxis, and flew back, and didn't encounter one person with the flu let alone catch it myself. Maybe it's just because I was armed with the most important information of all in this crisis, which is what not to do when the news breaks a story about something called the "swine flu":

Or the incubation period isn't over yet.

i honestly dont really care. its just a bad case of flu that travels fast, and people in political positions with media connections are most likely just trying to make it a big deal so that we'll panic and pay no attention to the problems that obama is having filling his cabinet and whatnot. its almost just like getting in trouble with parents and then sayign oh, my older sibling did this to have the parents attention go to the other sibling. :doh

WE dont know yet but i actually think the WHO organisation has done a good job alerting people it may turn out very mild but you can guarentee if they hadnt put this effort in and it turned real bad people would be going mad.The fact is most people arent proactive they are reactive Hurricane Katrina is a godd example there where serious warnings that people ignored and the amount of people demanding better levees.

i suppose, but a hurricane is a different scenerio. as long as you have good hygene flu shouldnt be much of a problem.

I dont know if i trust others hygene though

as long as your own hygene is well, even if you were to catch it, the hospitals in the US are advanced enough that very few would die from it. its not the 1800's or 1900's with the plague and no technology to help.
