I'd do her.
...uhh, when she becomes legal...of course...

I agree the picture is creepy. Someone posed them badly. But this is a really old topic. That picture has been around for quite some time.

I agree the picture is creepy

Having been through the family courts a few years now (representing myself or advising others) I have noticed that some judges and some lawyers still advise fathers not to display emotion or affection for their children - especially the female ones.

Women / mothers are allowed to pose in affectionate pics with their kids so why not fathers? I have no idea who the two in the picture are so I could be entirely wrong and they may now have 5 kids by incest - but to me (being ever optimistic) this is a father and daughter who care and love each other.

Personally I get really angry when a father comes to me having lost in court by portraying the emotionless father figure his lawyer advised - we're always going to see full or 60% custody awarded to mothers in divorce while fathers who love their children are demonised or supposed to be paedophiles.

Well... there is that great big flap in the top corner where the landscape is peeking in..

Now her future boyfriends will be jealous of her dad and not trust them alone...

I fail to see what's even remotely bothersome about that picture.

It's a father and child who love each other - can be interpreted wrongly.

As I said in my previous post - if the pic was of a mum and her son or her daughter nobody would bat an eyelid. Wouldn't even be mentioned or take up any bandwidth: but this is a father and fathers are supposed in some eyes to be emotionless distant figures.

Too bad for some I guess.

they were posed like this. It speaks more to the photographer than the father/daughter here.

I personally find no issues with it.
I think it's a pretty picture.

I think it's a bit absurd. I wouldn't want my daughter in a top looking sexy with her abdomen out while sprawling across her father's lap while he wears a wife beater and attempts a fabio trashy redneck romance cover look. But perhaps that's just me. ;)

I disagree entirely. If I wore a belly shirt and then sprawled across my son's lap while he attempted to look like a trailor park fabio in a wife beater that too - would look pretty weird.

Think of a wildlife photo of a protective and alert father lion looking off in the distance while the lion cub(s) sit around and on him with nary a worry for their own well-being or anything else.

Do you think the picture implies a sexual relationship between the father and daughter?

or are you unhappy about their clothing? (And I don't know what a wearable wife beater is...) I do know what a man who IS a wife beater is - is that what you are saying the father in this picture is?

I'm really curious - would you object about a picture of a young male who may be dressed in current youth style being embraced by his young looking mother in a picture styled on the same theme?

Or do you like the idea of parents keeping a physical distance from their offspring?

just seems to me, especially with girls growing up, there are ages where certain things stop

for example, very early on, Daddies are no longer allowed in the bathroom with their daughters

A wife-beater is just slang for the type of tank top Billy Ray is wearing in the picture.

As I mentioned earlier - I don't know who the characters are, I have no idea who "Miley Cyrus" is or why she's famous: all I see is a pic of a father and child, out in the landscape (if you look in the left top corner of the pic) - it's not a bathroom and they're both clothed.

And I stopped going into the bathroom with my two boys when they reached 3. They were shown how to wipe, to dry and brush their teeth. If I had a daughter it would be the same. They're 10 and 7 now and I still hug them in the street - if they want a kiss in public they get one and if they want me to sing silly songs when we're travelling on public transport I do it.

I just don't "get" what is so wrong with the picture. Could someone explain?

My guess is Billy Ray was a country singer, they are from like Tennessee or somewhere, and there are stereotypes about backwards hillbilly incest types from that area. So people see this and just think the wrong stereotypipcal thing.

Now to me it's almost like a portrait of a father protecting his daughter. I don't think anything is wrong with it personally.
