Have you ever thought about living in a time other than the present? If so, what time and for what reason?

If we went back in time, we would gain:
* More freedom
* Lower population density
* Less crime
* Better environment

But there would be a trade off of less technology; we would have to give up all the gadgets that were made after the time you chose to live.

So the question is: In what time period would you like to live?

The poll is multiple choice; you can choose more than one time period.

The only think that would really bother me about going back in time is my strong, outspoken atheism probably wouldn't be taken too kindly. Still, I'd rather have lived back before the government got to be the size and abusive as it is now, when things were well more free. That, or an old school pirate. Cause those guys were cool.

I'd probably go back to the time they wrote the Constitution for the United States and made sure they put some important information in there (and took out some other things).

Or the sixties. That would have been a helluva time.

In the future. I just have to go there first to make sure it's okay. I don't want to get stuck in some world war or nothing.:2razz:

Actually in hte ancient times "1200 AD" where Islam was in its best form, no terrorists no extremists, and we were too friendly to Jews and Christians .

I'd like too to live in 70th where the Rock 'n' Roll was beating :cool:

Late seventies, New Jersey- bounce, rock, skate, roll.

It wont be ok, promise

Since, using my time displacement device (which doubles as an alternate universe transport), specially fitted with a temporal envelope, protecting me from paradoxes and other dangerous anomalies, I have traveled to many time periods both past and present, choosing one that I particularly liked is difficult. I must consider this question, carefully.

The present or future. Why would you want to live in an era where life was worse than it currently is? That would include...well, every single decade before this one since the beginning of humanity.

Many people thinks that they are living in the worst era ever :shock:

lucky you :mad:

I was in high school...late '70s, early '80s. Simpler time. Seemed like there were fewer worries, but that may just have been the carefreeness of youth.

For me, it was the a synthetic carefreeness, while studies was my biggest thing to worrie about :mrgreen:

I'd like to live in the time period at some point in the future, when we are exploring the universe on inter galactic spaceships. So long as I wasn't made into the Borg.

If thats the case, send me back to a few days before Super Bowl III. I'm about to get stinking rich......:2razz:

If I can go back and live with the benefit of the knowledge I have today, and with any materials that I can bring back from today... any time in the past before last century would be good, though the further back the better.

I cannot dream of a better accomplishment in my life than ensuring the survival of Vinland as a free and independent nation into the modern day.

Otherwise, future. Always forward. I want to live to see integration of electronics with the human form and human mind. I want to colonize distant planets and see my people live among the stars. I wish to see the triumph of medicine over old age and disease, and live in an era in which people only die violently. I want to watch the evolution of my species into something better, and see what kinds of accomplishments my superhuman descendants are capable of.

Sometime in the Mid-1800's America... I'd brave dysentery to pioneer across an unravaged land as a hunter and trapper or a caravan member.

Make-believe is fun.

Many people do not know what life is like without air conditioning/heating

Future, of course. We already know about the past, and my curiosity compels me.

I would like to travel into the future to the year 2000, and check out the flying cars and visit mars for lunch. I would bring back 2 robot servants: one to sell…maybe even for a million dollars, but only the government has that kind of money...and one for my private use ;)

Bring back the 80's!!! Rock on!!!

I wouldn't want to live too far back because of all the tyrant kings that take all the pretty woman at will and make them slaves.

Because I have this drive to be the best at everything, if I lived in the wild west I would either be the most famous gun slinger ever (quickest and never miss) or I would be dead before I turned 21.

Now is probably the best era as far as human rights go and not having to deal with abusive governments.

The future would be interesting if I could sail the universe and explore all its wonders.

Exactly what year are you in right now?:cool:

My moral beliefs place me somewhere in the late Victorian era, but at least we can duel whereas you can't even open a door for a woman without being sued for discrimination.

The ‘80s, aye? Wouldn’t it be fun to show the SAW series to that audience?
