On (somewhat of) a lighter note, anyone familiar with James Bond?

I've been thinking about this for awhile.

The next Bond film, now temporarily titled Bond 23 will likely be released in 2010 or 2011. Of course, there has been large talk about locations in the U.S. and especially New York, and Bond fans everywhere hotly debate it.

The latest film, Quantum of Solace, took on subjects like Latin American communism, oil, natural resources, all subjects that are very relevant today. Bond films seem to do this a lot, they cover things that are going on currently in the world and make it an interesting story. I love it. ;)

This got me thinking about whether Bond in the Middle East would be topical or contaversial. I wonder if putting Bond in the Middle East (if the villain is Middle Eastern, or Bond's enemies are from the region) would spark debate or whether it would be considered appropriate. What do you think?

Why would it spark debate whether its appropriate or not? Lol what kind of PC **** is this? Its a movie.... and there isnt a damn thing Bond hasnt done and wont do ;]

Been done.

From Russia With Love (Istanbul).
Never Say Never Again (Libya/Algeria)
For Your Eyes Only (eastern Mediterranean)

Since when the hell was Istanbul Middle eastern? And i swear For Your Eyes Only was based in eastern europe?

I'd welcome a realistic (as much as any 007 film can be considered realistic) Bond film set in the M.E. showing al Qaeda types in a bad light and other Arabs in various shades of gray rather than just good guys or bad guys.

Calm down, its just a question.

Better than capitalists being played up as the evil villains of so many films. Why not you know, use some terrorists as villains? Seems to go hand-in-hand to me.

I think the Middle East would be perfect.

I ****ing hate James Bond movies.

Anyone who's actually watched half of them would have caught on to the fact by now that THEY'RE ALL THE SAME MOVIE.

Haha.
Come one. Daniel Craig has to be my all time favourite. Casino Royale and Quantom of Solace are just fantastic. Do you have a blu-ray player? Try getting the DVD's in Blu-Ray format. Its fantastic, almost like looking out of the window and watching Bond himself kick arse.

Why are you telling me? Yeah Craig is my favorite too.
