Do you believe the world would be a better place if someone were to invent a perfect, infallible lie detector tomorrow? Assume that the government would have an essentially unlimited supply of them, they'd be availalbe to the public at the cost of a decent computer, and they'd be impossible to tamper with. Is a world without lies, for the most part, worth the loss of privacy?
